1 Though troubles and trials come my way, in thee God will I trust. 2 You are my help when things feel hopeless, you are my rock in the time of storms. 3 No matter what comes my way Jesus, I can stand knowing thy Spirit is near.
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:19,20
Something I have been meaning to do for sometime is write personal Psalms. I have even thought about setting up a category where everyone can write personal Psalms, hymns or poems, if there is any interest. It is not about quality to be judged by others so much as a way to publically give praise to God. They can be however long or short you want them to be, they can rhyme or not rhyme.

Praise the Lord for His goodness, Exalt His name on High, Our God is worthy of our praise, there is no god like unto Him. Let us magnify the Lord, Let His praises continually be in our mouth. Magnify the Lord God, all His people, rejoice in the God of our salvation.

Don't know if you like Christian poetry writing, but brother Ray Ritchie has been know to write a few pieces....
This is one he has shared with me today.....
O Morning so Lovely
O morning which greets me in waking haze. O morning before the rays do burst the sky. O morning which meets my mind; O Lord who awakens the day! I will praise thee with gladness and joy shall be the fruit of my lips. O breath that is given for the day and strength to gather the way. O Lord who allots me time; I am glad that I am thine. As I ponder your word; in my spirit I am stirred. Let me glean this precious prize; let it enlighten my spiritual eyes.
Speak to me thy wondrous will; let my life do it with thy marvelous skill. For once I wondered aimlessly; living my life so shamelessly. My life of sin and selfness; a heart so filled with negligence. O Lord of Love you found me there; and filled my soul with godly despair. O the conviction of sin did grow; then repentance that made me whole.
O Lord let my feet walk thy path; let me guide others from thy wrath. When I come to thy holy hill; let my heart be quiet and still. O Lord of Love in me grow; that I may those seeds to others sow. O day that dawns with newness now; let my words expose the darkness foul. O the light of heaven shine bright; expel the evil and the blight. Let me be a Jesus knight; to confront this day with the right.
O Lord of Love fill me now with thy fruit; let my senses be acute. O let the day be forewarned; with the Lord I am adorned. O Lord that loves with perfection; let me spread it with your reflection. Let me show thy loving kindness with unfeigned lips and devotion. Let my life be you in motion! Selah
Shalom, Agape, & Amen!

Les introduced an original Psalm/Poem by his friend Ray Ritchie. Sometime back, I started a thread where we could all write original Psalms if we wanted to, and wrote a couple of short original Psalms as examples. I am hardly a poet, so I figured if I can attempt it, others might want to give it a try. This isn't a contest, but a way to give praise to God. They can be short or long. If there is any serious interest, I will set up a place for original Psalms/Poems. Let me know.

Mighty is our God, and worthy of our praise. There is no god like Him, let all creation sing. Majestic is the Lord, All honor to His name. Sing unto our God, let all of heaven ring.
What can we liken to our God, There is none like Him, He is seen in all creation, the handiwork of a King, The grass of the field and the clouds above testify, The fish of the sea and the birds in the sky do sing
God is everywhere, in the playful kitten and the little pup, From the frigid north pole always covered with snow, To the desserts with their unbearable and constant heat, The finger of God can be seen, in heaven and in earth below.
Sing praise to the Lord, Blessed be our King. Selah.

The goodness of the Lord is like honey. It draws us in.
The Lord is not like us. He is trustworthy in all He does.
The Lord is love and all of creation testifies to it.

This is great, stepping out by faith and giving praise to the Lord in the form of a Psalm. No need to worry about people judging you. Just do it as unto the Lord. That is great Naomi! And every word you spoke is true and from your heart. I loved it, and more important than that, I know the Lord did.

The little lamb that in JESUS can . For he has fled from the pulpits of contrary man . He is kept back from their golden rains flow And near their brownies of doctrine he will not go . For he eats of only the green grass of truth our Lord does provide And Loves truth and to sin has died . And does not gather at the foot of tall towers of men high above For the Lord HE does trust and truth does he love And as the many feed from the towers of men in the air and do not ponder , nor think , nor beware . That if bathrooms are not up in these towers on high then mayhaps this rain and brownies they ought to not try . For that is the doctrine of men gone wrong and the lambs will not heed its death tainted song .

Okay , to put folks minds at ease . Go read the old testament and look at the language God uses through prophets . I will smear dung upon their faces . Tables of vomit , nasty feet trodding doctrine . I tell andremind us all , that lil lamb that in JESUS can , is G rated compared to some of the things those prophets said . So no worries . Mans doctrine IS DUNG and I have no shame in saying it . Dung as in DUNG , only at least dung can fertilize . Its useless dung , good for nothing but stink . BUT EVERY WORD OF GOD , NOW THAT is an aroma and a taste , than can nothing compare too . SO PUT those hands up and bellow out a praise to the LORD .
