. MATTHEW.5:27-30 (NKJV) = Adultery in the Heart 27 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. . If you aim to be saved from hell without believing in Jesus as the Messiah/Christ/Saviour, then you will need to also pluck out your eyes and cut off your limbs, turn the other cheek, walk the extra mile and lend to all who ask, besides foolishly loving your enemies as yourself.(cf; ROMANS.12:19-21 & 9:13, PROV.6:16, HOSEA.9:15)
This was the challenge and conviction proposed by Jesus Christ to the Jews and Pharisees who went on to reject Him as the Christ. IOW, those who really go and pluck out their eyes and cut off their limbs(= cannot commit adultery in their hearts), and obey the above foolish acts/"commandments" will be saved from hell without Jesus Christ.
Peace.
Actually, Jesus wasn't telling people that they had to pluck out their eyes or cut off their limbs to be saved without him. Nobody can be saved without him, because of original sin. What he was saying is if you cannot control your lust, hell is such an awful place, you would be better off to pluck out your eye than to wind up there. The same applies to your limbs. He was trying to get the point across of the horrors of hell. His teachings were not to show that we cannot keep them. He was showing us the right way, and we should strive to follow his teachings. A wise man will try their best to do as our Lord commands us. That doesn't mean we will never fail, but if we do, we confess our short comings and strive to do better. I want to ask you a question. Have you been born again? Can you tell us the story of how you became a Christian? . To add to your good post, as long as people have harbored immoral lust, hate, anger, greed, selfishness, jealousy/envy, fears and doubts in their hearts, they are already bound for hell when they die, if they do not have faith in Jesus Christ for their salvation.(ROMANS.5:12, LEV.17:11, HEB.9:22) It is not just evil-works/deeds or sins or Law-breaking that will be sending all people to hell, eg murder, adultery, stealing, cursing, etc = after Christ or NT times, Jews who have kept the Law by not committing murder, adultery, blasphemy, etc, will still be bound for hell if they do not have faith in Jesus Christ. Such involuntary or unintentional evil/sinful/satanic thoughts are the result of people's inherited Adam's Original Sin = a spiritual and mortal/earthly curses from God.(GENESIS.2:17 & 3:14-19)
People should not allow such involuntary evil/sinful/satanic thoughts in the hearts and minds to bear fruit into voluntary or intentional evil works/deeds or sins(eg murder, bullying, sexual immorality, stealing, cheating/lying, etc), whether they are non-Christians or Christians(cf; HEB.10:26-31, GAL.5:19-21). . What say you, am I not born again.? . Peace.

I never said that you were not born again. I asked you if you had been born again, and if you could tell us the story of how you came to be a Christian? It was a question, not an accusation.

I like to tell my testimony and listen to others also. it declares Gods goodness. I always tell people my testimony is what God did. not what I did.

If you’re still counting on fleshly righteousness to give you an advantage over inferior “baby” Christians, and if you really think that obeying OT law makes you better than the brother sitting next to you of a different skin color, I’m sorry to say you’re preaching a different gospel. The gospel is not a way for dirty Gentiles to be given the favor of Jews coaching them on righteousness. It isn’t a way for Gentiles to come groveling to their superiors to show them how to be morally good. It isn’t about righteous Jews trotting into the heavenly kingdom already having their act together, already knowing exactly how to do this whole righteousness thing, but now with the added bonus of spiritual everlasting life. We don’t please our Lord and Savior by offering ourselves to Him as good people.
The gospel calls each of us — whether a drug addict in prison or a meticuluous orthodox Jew — to fall at the feet of Jesus in recognition of our filthy rags, to become as little children, to count all former gain as loss, and to esteem others above ourselves.
The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. — Luke 18:11-14
If you are not willing to publicly admit that you’re no better than a publican, you haven’t get begun to understand the work of the cross.
I don’t know how much simpler I can make this. Such teaching as we’ve seen here lately is truly an attack on the gospel.

I do not know if i will respond to some posts here, but some crazy stuff is starting to be said in many ways.
I think in the over all church world, there are a lot of doctrines being proposed that is perverting the word of God, such as this hyper grace gospel, and this righteousness through the law doctrine.

Rom 3:21-23
But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; (well look at that, even the Law and the prophets witnessed to that day coming when Law would be obsolete) Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God Rom 10:12-13
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Rom 13:8-10
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Gal 5:13-14
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Love is the law that gets written on our hearts, on our consciences....not the ordinances of the Law which were nailed to the cross with Jesus. Do this, don’t do that, eat this, don’t eat that, handle this but don’t touch that…..were all nailed to the cross…..so that we could serve in the new way of the Spirit who simply does not lead us to sin. Having received the spirit of adoption we are now led by the Spirit as His sons and all we need to do is obey that love and conscience that He gave us, and His leading. Scripture says the Law is only for the unrighteous and sinners….to instruct, correct, or reprove the unrighteous, or if a believer is in sin or needs some instruction. We just need to receive God’s word on these things, and believe them.

I understand what you are saying about the early church, in that the Jews were raised knowing about Jehovah and the law of Moses, whereas the gentiles had to start without that knowledge. I understand that, but both sides had their own challenges. For the Jews, it meant going from following laws to be saved to salvation through faith in Christ. It meant an end to the Levitical priesthood. The gentiles were learning the Christian faith without that.
In the day in which we are living, having had 2000 years of the existence of the Christian faith, and having had the Holy Bible to learn from, I do not believe Jews are naturally more or less moral than gentiles. Those without Jesus are all hell bound. We do not hold to the OSAS lie, and do not believe Christians who live according to the flesh will remain saved. That is made clear in our statement of faith. We also don't believe Jewish Christians are under a different set of standards from gentile Christians.

For the Jews, it meant going from following laws to be saved to salvation through faith in Christ. Just remembering that no one can be saved by following laws, because the carnal simply cannot follow laws (especially the law of God [the Ten Commandments]). "Because the carnal mind is enmity against God;
for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be." - Romans 8:7As far as I know, the Jews in the OT were also saved by faith in the promised savior. The problem is that many taught they were righteous because they followed the law by the flesh like: Have you sinned? No problem, just do a sacrifice and you are clean (as the law commands). And there is when the hypocrisy of many pharisees started to appear, they lived in sin and darkness and tried to pose as righteous. They were not willing to confess their sins and wanted to obtain righteousness through law keeping (which was never possible for those who are in the flesh). "Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin." - Romans 3:20The flesh hates law (especially the law of God), then claiming they are successfully following laws it should be the law of flesh (where sin prevails and dominates). "Therefore by their fruits you will know them." - Matthew 7:20

You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. 18 You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.
19 ‘You shall keep My statutes. . . JOHN.14:15-24 = Jesus Promises Another Helper
15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
Indwelling of the Father and the Son
19 “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. 20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?”
23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me. . . Fyi, GAL.5:13-14 was quoted by Paul from the OT Law at DEUT.6:5 and LEV.19:18. By defining the 2 Great commandments of love at MATTHEW.22:37-40, it does not mean that Jesus Christ had abolished the other less great commandments/laws/Word of God, eg EXODUS.20:1-17, DEUT.18:9-14, LEV.10:9 & 18:22, etc. Not even housing cooperative laws in USA can just be just broken down into 1 simple law of love your neighbor as yourself. .......
MATTHEW.5:17-20 = Christ Fulfills the Law
17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one [c]tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
.
Gentile Christians who go and willfully sin or break the essential or non-burdensome laws/commandments/Word of God unrepentantly or ignorantly will likely not inherit the kingdom of God in heaven(GAL.5:19-21, 1COR.6:9-10, HEB.10:26-31, 1COR.5:5, REV.22:12-17) = the HOLY Spirit of God will not be dwelling/abiding in them any more, eg when they eventually lose faith, deny or renounce the faith, depart from the faith, etc. . Peace.

Gentile Christians who go and willfully sin or break the essential or non-burdensome laws/commandments/Word of God unrepentantly or ignorantly will likely not inherit the kingdom of God in heaven... ... the HOLY Spirit of God will not be dwelling/abiding in them any more, eg when they eventually lose faith, deny or renounce the faith, depart from the faith, etc. . Peace. Then we have a contradiction here, my friend. Because, as the Word also confirms we also have a testimony from God.
Because many of us here, including John , Abby-Joy , frienduff does not follow the dietary law and still we have the Holy Spirit.
"And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is
the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him." - Acts 5:32
As it is written:
"Now therefore, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the
neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?" - Acts 15:10
"For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things:
that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality..." - Acts 15:28-29
Then, if you keep the whole dietary law perfectly... And that is a must if you want to boast about it:
"For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all." - James 2:10
Or you keep all or you have kept nothing.
"But food does not commend us to God; for neither if we
eat are we the better, nor if we do not eat are we the worse." - 1 Corinthians 8:8
I am not saying it is bad to follow the dietary laws. You just cannot force people to do that and say they are condemned if they do not do so (which is a lie).
It is like me saying that you should drink only water, read the Bible for at least 8 hours a day and avoid all kinds of meat (including fish).
You cannot do that?! Well, what if I could and told you are going to hell if you don't?! Is that true? Obviously not.
"But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift." - Ephesians 4:7
"He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks;
and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.
For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself." - Romans 14:6-7
Following dietary law purifies no one's heart, food does not purifies anyone's heart. Then it is useless to be preached the way you are doing.
"Are you thus without understanding also?
Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him,
because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?" - Mark 7:18-19
And it is also confirmed here that all foods were made clean:
"...saw heaven opened and an object like a great sheet bound at the
four corners, descending to him and let down to the earth. In it were all kinds of
four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air.
And a voice came to him, “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.”" - Acts 10:11-13
"For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving..." - 1 Timothy 4:4
"...What God has cleansed you must not call common." - Acts 10:15
Blessings to you in Jesus' name!
