In an ideal world, doing good would not be a problem, but it does not work like this in this world.
I have seen and understood that you cannot be dedicated in following what is good and do not suffer because of it in this world.
"...If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me." - Matthew 16:24
Yes, it may seem strange for you. But it is the truth, and I will show you.
When following what is good, you try to help people, and they think you want to kill them.
When following what is good, you try to be kind, and they think you are just acting.
When following what is good, you try to do good, and they think you have a demon.
"It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher,
and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub,
how much more will they call those of his household!" - Matthew 10:25
When following what is good, you deny yourself, and they think you are crazy.
"The righteous considers the cause of the poor,
But the wicked does not understand such knowledge." - Proverbs 29:7
When following what is good, you are seen as evil in this world.
Now, I understand why so many people do not care about doing good. It is not for everyone.
It takes love. It is for those who really love it.
When following what is good, you do good, and you receive evil from people. And you must not repay with evil.
"not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling,
but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this..." - 1 Peter 3:9
The truth is that, in this world, to follow evil is so much easier and they will just love you.
"Woe to you when all men speak well of you,
For so did their fathers to the false prophets." - Luke 6:26
But if you want to follow what is good, then be ready to suffer.
You will greet people and they will curse you.
You will lend, hope nothing in return, and be called a fool.
You will lend, they will not pay you back, you will not charge them, and you will be called a fool.
You will be kind to them and they will be harsh to you beyond measure.
"Thus they have rewarded me evil for good, And hatred for my love." - Psalm 109:5
You will cry, and no one will be there to comfort you. It is only you and the Lord.
"And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another
Helper, that He may abide with you forever..." - John 14:16
Thanks to God, who sent us the Helper. Because without Him it would be impossible to endure until the end.
Now, you do good and suffer in Jesus' name!
"You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ." - 2 Timothy 2:3
"...knowing that you were called to this..." - 1 Peter 3:9
Blessings in Jesus' name!
