And anyhow, here are other things concerning the word vomit, but first I will quote the context of this scripture:
2Pe 2:1 (1) But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
Now here is the vomit scripture:
2Pe 2:19-22 (19) While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. (20) For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. (21) For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. (22) But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
Peter was warning against false prophets and false teachers, and they were coming in among the people promising them liberty, even causing some who have escaped the pollutions of the world, to go back into their bondage.
That is why it is important for us to know the word of God, that we allow the word to permeate our hearts, and build upon a strong foundation, therefore having strong roots, so we do not fall into the snares of false teachers and prophets.

I mean like whole books, like Genesis straight through, or Romans straight through.
Ya it has happened, not always in the same day. I am just saying that when you are able to do it in one sitting, it gives you a different perspective. The first time I read "Pilgrim's Progress" including the second part with Pilgrim's wife, it only took me 3 days. That is because I was so much into it. You can get into the Bible like that sometimes. I have found reading along with the audio helps keep you moving.

It has happened to me like that at times, but even in those times, when I do get into it, I still seek to read it carefully. And I have the book Pilgrim's progress, and also Holy war from Bunyan, and I do get something every time I read them, that I did not see before, it happens on a regular basis.

My focus is more on carefulness, and not reading through with a rushed mind, rather than say reading this whole chapter or not.
Not being led by impulse, or just reading for the sake of reading, just filling up with a bunch of knowledge, rather than for the right reason.
Carefully thinking upon it, and letting it do it's work, is very important.
But praise God when we do read a whole chapter, book , whatever, and God is doing his work in us.

So what makes someone vomit the word of God, or I should say also what can make a believer vomit the word of God?

So what makes someone vomit the word of God, or I should say also what can make a believer vomit the word of God? Has it been established that you can vomit the Word of God?

Now I know that vomit here, is referring to these people who were escaped from the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour jesus Christ, going back to their old sinful ways.
Vomit is indicative of going back to the old sinful ways.
The way I am using the word vomit, in the sense of vomiting the word, is not because the word itself is vomit, or becomes vomit, but rather is in the sense of when someone rejects the word, then it is as if they have vomited the word of God out of them for they have rejected the word, and received something else, either some false doctrine or whatever else it may be, then they return to their own sinful ways or vomit.
But if you do not want to use the word vomit here, we can use the word rejecting the word of God.
So in what ways do believers at times reject the word of God, or do not fully accept this or that truth?

Well I will mention one way, that is when we are not being sensitive to the Holy Spirit, a truth of the word can be presented, but not be accepted at that moment.

Another way the word can be rejected, is when we put our agendas ahead of what God says, thus rejecting doing things his way, rather than our way.

So you are talking about a person feasting on 1 Peter for instance, but rather than receiving nourishment from it, their body rejects it and vomits it up? I could have just as easily have mentioned any scripture that they rejected. You are asking for ways Christians do that?

Wanting something in opposition to scripture is one way. How many rejected the scripture about not being unequally yoked and married an unbeliever?

It is things like this that I want to get into, just want people to keep on mentioning things as the Spirit leads them. So people can be helped in seeing things. So I pray we will continue on mentioning more, God bless. Just want a good honest talk on this issue.

Now of course we all have areas to work on, and one area that I have noticed that things can get rejected in, is in the area were someone may have a strong hold in their lives, and not even know it, and say one of the works of the flesh is presented to him, there are some because they like the certain thing that they do, because it is considered the norm, and sometimes in even what we call Christian circles, that because Christian circles will consider it the norm, they reject that truth of what the word says.
When truth is presented we really have to lay completely aside our feelings, and it may be hard to swallow at first, but God's goal is for us to accept this or that truth, even if at first it hurts our ego, pride, or whatever you want to call it.
And I know I want to die daily, that I may truly gain Christ.
