Something was said in the head covering thread, and that is why I am bringing up this topic. I didn't want to derail that subject, so I figured I would bring this up here. There is a school of thought that you can be the worst kind of sinner, but still be blessed for following God principles. Examples would be, if you tithe to the work of God, you will be blessed. If you bless Israel, you will be blessed. It is said that many sinners know about these things, and use them to get gain. My question is, do you believe there is anything to this, or do you think that all of this is in vain unless you are truly a servant of God?

Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. — 1 Corinthians 11:27-30
I stand by my position that sacred things of God cannot be toyed with.
When it comes to the universal moral law, being a responsible citizen will certainly make life easier. Following the Golden Rule will help you have more friends.
But the things we do to consecrate ourselves before God, we best tread softly lest we make a mockery.

Hypocrisy and wrong motives are all sinful. That is not to say that sometimes we might behave outwardly in a way that we know is right, and that reflects our inner desire to be holy, even if we are not quite there yet inwardly. I dont' believe anyone will reap negative consequences for sincerely trying. And neither can we expect to be blessed for knowingly doing wrong outwardly. So I think it depends on the motives and one's heart attitude...whether a person is sincere or just trying to manipulate the Almighty and look good to others, and God is the judge of those things. Just my two cents here.

We are told that in the day of judgment many will be cast aside even though they ( and others ) thought themselves righteous God is the only one to know what is truly in our hearts Have to say this question reminds me of the roman catholic church that allows sins as long as you " say hail Marys/ give money/ repeat verses from the bible/light candles etc . Look to the poor widow who had so little but was blessed more than the rich members of the congregation

I also believe in treading carefully with God, and not to trample the word of God.
And sometimes things can be said, and people take it the wrong way.
God knows were we are at, and no you should never willfully go against God's word.

Sometimes if our view says that you must were a veil , to some not wearing a veil is rebellion, to others, they might say if you do not have long hair you have to wear some type of covering or your in rebellion.
To me there is a certain custom that I see Paul as making unnecessary, so when I say the blood covers it, I am not saying this in a lite casually way, of how it does not matter if a woman has long hair or short hair, no not at all.
To me if the person realizes their wrong and begins to grow their hair long, then she is taking steps of obedience, because she is allowing her hear to grow long, but if this person is not taking steps towards this, then she is in rebellion.

With true repentance, there are actions that also follow.

I think that the blood might do a lot more than what any of us might think.

I think that the blood might do a lot more than what any of us might think. There is power in the blood. I hope that we all understand that! If not for the blood of Jesus being shed for our sins, we would all be lost. The life is in the blood. They is why we are forbidden to consume blood.

Many sinners recognize they are lost and heading for hell, but they believe that they will still enjoy the blessings of God in this life if they follow God principles. They will have plenty of money if they are charitable. They will have the blessings of God on their life if they bless Israel. They will have a long life if they honor their Father and Mother. For them, it is not so much about where they spend eternity as having a good life now. I was asking if that is true. Will the sinner who follows God principles have the blessings of God on their life today, in spite of the fact they are lost spiritually?

I have absolutely no scripture to back this up but I was always taught that if you follow the spiritual principles of God then you will still be blessed. Kind of like you reap what you sow idea. The thing is I've seen bad people prosper and good people prosper.... Christian and non-Christian. So, I really do not know the answer to your question.

Its even said in the psalms and other places in ezzekial and jeremiah , their houses have waxed full of deceit , THEREFORE they have grown very rich in money etc . BUT what will a man do at the end thereof . As one man says , my foot had well nigh slipped , that he was envious at the wicked , because they had it so easy and much abundance BUT THIS was till HE WENT INTO THE TABERNACLE OF GOD and saw their end . NOW in CHRIST we have entered into it and we see their end . NOT GOOD . Thus let all who name the name of JESUS depart , flee and never look back at the false prosperity sin allowing gospel which has made many rich , YET VERY POOR . And be well learned in the bible . One more thing , SISTER DEZI , YOU ARE LOVED and put those hands up and praise the LORD .

Mat 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: Mat 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: Mat 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Mat 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. Mat 6:23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
