John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Many mansions = many levels. ....or Christ would of said in my Father's house is one great big mansion and it's called heaven!
Paradise is not in heaven where God's throne is, but an extension of heaven set up inside the earth. A different realm inside this earth, just like it is in heaven with God's spirit in it.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. How do we know that paradise is in the earth? Because that's where the tree of life is. In the garden where Adam and Eve dwelt.
Christ went to paradise that same day he died. He didn't sit at the Father's right hand until 3 days later when he rose. This to me proves that paradise is not heaven, but the kingdom of heaven on earth. One of those levels on earth.
So where does it say that we go straight to heaven when we die, when Christ didn't even go there himself that day? Can anyone help me out?

We no longer go to paradise, right? Old Testament saints went to paradise. All those who die saved today go to heaven. Jesus took the OT saints out of paradise to heaven. No one in the old testament went to paradise. The idea of going paradise was apparently the erroneous myths of some sect(s) of the Jewish religious teachers. No where in Scripture is it written that those who die saved today go to heaven before the resurrection. Jesus told the disciples and Apostles "the kingdom of heaven is in your midst, not somewhere afar off nor as if in the future" ...... There are many myths that were accepted into the roman catholic abomination then passed on / passed down / through the daughters of the harlot.

here is another one i like:
Mat 27:50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. Mat 27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; Mat 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, Mat 27:53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
i thought of this after reading Solid's words.

That's right Cletus . And it sure does make crystal clear that those who were dead , DID not rise , TILL AFTER the resurrection of JESUS , WHO IS THE RESSURECTION , THE LIFE WAY and TRUTH . The FIRST BORN FROM THE DEAD , author of life and life eternal . Hands up and praise the LORD . And then praise HIM again .

2Co 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Rev 6:9 When the lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slaughtered because of the word of God and the testimony they had given. Rev 6:10 They cried out in a loud voice, "Holy and true Sovereign, how long will it be before you judge and take revenge on those living on the earth who shed our blood?" Rev 6:11 Each of them was given a white robe. They were told to rest a little longer until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers was completed, who would be killed as they themselves had been. Jesus conquered the grave and death. no grave can hold us, and death is not just a something, but a someone. because of what Jesus has done, and His Spirit in us there is no reason for any delay. once we breath our last, we are with Him. Jesus said there was some standing there(then) that would not taste of death. What did he mean that some would not taste of death?

To your understanding do we go to Heaven when we die or are we waiting to be risen to meet Jesus when he comes back? I am getting a little confused about this topic. Most people are confused about this because of tradition (sinful errors). Here is a thorough study from all Scripture, what God says about the after life. You might not like it, but we sure hope you do ! levendwater.org/books/the_rich_man_and_lazarus/index.htmThis url/ study is complete enough through all Scripture to remove all confusion and all doubt, trusting the Father in heaven. Listening to more than one god though and/or tradition, that always brings confusion and doubt.

What did he mean that some would not taste of death? In some Bible search , like Biblegateway.com, or BlueLetterBible.com, etc look up "sleep" throughout the New Testament. Ever since Jesus Lived on earth, Ekklesia did not die - instead it is written they "sleep" , like Lazarus, and like Tabitha, etc We never die, if we are in the Lord. We simply sleep - when we pass on, we will be resurrected "in the twinlkling of an eye" so to speak, ALIVE IN CHRIST ALWAYS, not subject to DEATH ---- the people condemned because of unbelief, they die.

After reading all the responses I feel just as confused as before. There are things that takes time to learn.
"For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again
the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food." - Hebrews 5:12
There are certain things I still cannot understand. But as we grow spiritually more is revealed to us.
It happens in His time, and not in ours. We just have to be obedient and listen.
"as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby..." - 1 Peter 2:2
"For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written,
“The just shall live by faith.”" - Romans 1:17
People who say they "know everything" probably do not know as they ought to know.
"And if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know." - 1 Corinthians 8:2
"The secret things belong to the Lord our God,
but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever..." - Deuteronomy 29:29
Blessings!

When the truth is told , simply, it takes no time at all for this and some other teachings too. Also, the Father is Faithful and True to Keep His Word - and to Reveal the Truth From His Word to all who seek Him as little children.

I reckon it means our eye lids close, and hello Jesus.
I think you might read in the OT about passover. lambs blood on the door/door posts. round about exodus 12. they put that spotless lambs blood on the door posts(our heart where God lives), and they did eat the lamb too with unleavened bread just like communion today(this is my body... take and eat). and in the night they were passed-over and no death. but those without that spotless lambs blood, well, The Book says there was such an awful wailing/crying in egypt and it wont ever be that bad again.

I think about this sometimes.
The thought of not having a body terrified me. But in Scripture, it says that it is better to be with the Lord in death than alive here on earth.
I believe that. I believe the Lord has a place for us in our Father's house and that it will be a good place even though we are used to having bodies.
I trust God's love for us. His love for us is nothing short of astounding.
