“Appealing to the flesh” is actually a tactic we see from atheists and unbelievers quite a bit. They say it’s awfully too convenient that Jesus died for our sins so we won’t be held accountable, which appeals to our weak conscience. They say it’s awfully convenient that we are going to a heaven where every tear is wiped away, and this appeals to our weak imaginations. Something isn’t true or false just because it appeals to us. What he did was falsely accuse people for believing the Bible. We are supposed to feel guilty for wanting our spiritual inheritance. I don't!

Obeying Jesus, Seeking the Truth, brings down the errors and even fantasies of the flesh, in a way (by Jesus) that nothing else ever can. When anything appeals to the flesh - ie. as written "the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life" if permitted, it leads to sin. Jesus came to set us free from all the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life - from all sin, and from the power of sin, and from the power of the world, and from the power of death, and from the power of the enemy - God's Plan and Purpose in Jesus in Salvation and in Fullness of (Abundant) Life is Complete and Whole, lacking nothing. 1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: I don't receive these lies and misapplication of scripture.

Yes, dear solid, that is indeed what happened here. We accept the KJV wording because it appeals to our flesh.

Presumptious too ? < shrugs > don't know - just based on what's right here......

Lack of discernment (which discernment is a gift in Jesus, freely given, and can be expected in Jesus ).

Behold brothers and sisters, the kind of correction we ought to esteem as deeply spiritual.

I turned this over to Butero for conciliation/working it out/ in a private message instead of trying to continue in this thread.

I don't receive these lies and misapplication of scripture. This is false. Lack of discernment (which discernment is a gift in Jesus, freely given, and can be expected in Jesus ). I don't think you have any discernment. You accused those who want their mansion God promised them of being in sin!

If you don't want your mansion Joseph, maybe God will give you a closet sized room with a cot, a little table and a candlestick.

I think it best to leave this thread closed. It has gotten too personal. I am not sure what we are supposed to get from being told that mansions appeal to the flesh? Mansions is the word used in the Bible. Streets of gold and gates of pearl appeal to the flesh too, but they are in heaven. I don't understand this at all. I am not sure what someone is supposed to do with that? There was that and the scripture about the need to confess sin. What sin?
I am really not sure how this was intended. I do know how someone could take it to be saying that they are carnal and flesh driven if they simply desire what Jesus said he prepared for them. This is the most animated I have seen Solid over anything. He is usually pretty laid back. One thing I would say to Solid is it is best to try to avoid letting something get you so emotional to where you feel the need to lash out. Try to stay calm and discuss the topic.
I had to work all day, so I missed this, so I appreciate you handling it PG4Him. This thread needed to be closed. It is not edifying at all.
