Heb 10:24-25 (24) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: (25) Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. I really love these verses. And yes the body of Christ needs each other. And in saying that, we must be careful of our motives in assembling. It is not assembling for the sake of assembling, but to assemble were God is truly leading you. There are too many movements out there, some it is the house church movement, some you have to gather in a building and so forth. But in reality it is none of these, for it does not matter if you gather in a house, or a building, what should matter the most is, what is there, is Christ truly and genuinely there? Is Christ truly being preached? Is the love of God there? And even numbers do not matter, just be sensitive to the Spirit of God, and he will lead you, God is good. I feel led to be here on narrow-way, on Worthy forums, and at my new mega-church! Being Spirit-led truly is easier than trying to figure out everything on your own. You are part of a mega-church? How big is it and how did you find it? I have visited a church that had several thousand members one time, but was never a member of a church like that.

I have known about this Church growing up. I wasn't impressed at my first visit. But the leaders are shifting gears, trying to lead more by the Spirit. I can tell. I met the pastor. He has the anointing of someone who stays prayed up trying to please the Lord. I felt the Spirit when I walked in. What's funny is that it's got all the fog machines and stage lighting but I had an intense and wonderful worship time with the band and dark lighting so I no longer care. I went to visit because I met a clearly anointed sister in the hospital who told me that was her church.

Hi there sis, I am glad you are here, and yes we must be Spirit led, but in being Spirit led, of course he will always lead in a scriptural direction, I am sure you know that, but just mentioning, because it needs to be mentioned. We can always know God better, and always get to know how to discern his leading, in a greater way. God love you.

I have never understood why you would need a fog machine, stage lighting and dark lighting in a church service? When I see stuff like that, it comes across like you are more about drawing a crowd using forms of entertainment rather than worship. It would seem like those kind of things would distract from God by taking the focus off of him, and place it on special effects. How many of those people in the congregation would remain in that church if you didn't have those things? What are they really there for? If they are doing that, are they compromising in other areas to draw a crowd? Does the minister preach about the dangers of sin, or are all the messages just about positive thinking? I am only asking. Not having been there, I have no way of knowing what is taught.

See it's funny you say that because the second the message is over, the majority of them flee like mice. But the message is Scriptural so I find myself drawn in along with a few key people. Almost like the true sheep funneling in to the narrow way while the other lights and fog just attract people who were on the broad way to begin with. As a woman, sometimes I am led by emotions. But I truly respected the pastor's message about discipleship and the true meaning of being a Christian. He tried very hard to distinguish that and I feel that the Lord is honoring that. I can sense that a few key elders pray hard to change the churches direction from "the cool church" to "Jesus' church" Here is an example: They don't count members. The pastor said they felt led to not count members cause it could easily be about numbers and not about feeding the sheep. See I was testing "the waters" when I spoke to the pastor (head band as a cover, of course). I am pleased to go there DESPITE the mega-church bells and whistles.

Perhaps the Lord can use you to be a light, and an influence to bring about positive change. You never know. If you can withstand the pressure to be like everyone else, the Lord can use you mightily.

The same pressure that makes others conform to a crowd, seems to make me brighter and more unique.
