God is the God of Abundance!
It’s sad when a sinner can boast of miraculous things that exceed the miraculous things of the saints who serve God! It raises a question in my mind about the faith and practice of professing Christians; yes there are lying signs and wonders to deceive the sinner and the saint. Yet! Christians should have a testimony that far exceeds the testimonies of sinners.
The modern Pharisee delights in taking away the power of the miraculous; their hope is in humanity not the God of creation. The hypocrisy is in the act of teaching those things which make us doubt that God is in the miracle business.
Practical biblical wisdom is wonderful for ordering our steps; but denying the power of God to transform the rankest sinner into a practicing saint, the afflicted body into a healthy body, the demon possessed soul into a sound mind is an affront against the very nature and being of God.
(12) Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.
(13) Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.
(14) The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
(15) Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard. Proverbs 13:12-15
Why should we suffer loss; if God be for us then who can stand against us? When the modern Pharisees preach and teach doctrine contrary to the wonder working power of God’s Word and Spirit they sin against God. The ministry of Jesus was demonstrated with the miraculous and the apostles also. There are those today which preach the truth and are ridiculed as heretics because they preach the miraculous power of the life changing, healing, infilling power of the Holy Ghost.
Those who’ve denied the power of God by and in large are experiencing the decline of biblical morality; yet they cannot see it; they’ve embraced the worldliness and abominable of the age; they are the blind leading the blind. Why? Because they’ve given themselves over to doctrines of demons denying the very God who saved them from their sins and human philosophies! There is a reckoning that is coming to consume them; they had laid up abominations against that day of judgement when God shall judge the quick and the dead. They shall stand in front of him naked and ashamed without excuse for the truth was given to them and they denied it for the fear and favor men.
How can one preach a gospel devoid of the miraculous! How can one preach a gospel devoid of healing! How can one preach a gospel devoid of deliverance!
(18) The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
(19) To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. Luke 4:18-19
Is God only concerned with the salvation of a person; when that person may live 60 years or more in the faith? Isn’t God a God who is concerned about our mind, our commodities, our health, and our social life? If one is saved and serving God; growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ; isn’t their spiritual walk being enhance day by day?
(2) And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
(3) Give us day by day our daily bread.
(4) And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Luke 11:2-4
What did Jesus say in Matthew chapter 6?
(31) Do not be over-anxious, therefore, asking 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
(32) For all these are questions that Gentiles are always asking; but your Heavenly Father knows that you need these things--all of them.
(33) But make His Kingdom and righteousness your chief aim, and then these things shall all be given you in addition.
(34) Do not be over-anxious, therefore, about to-morrow, for to-morrow will bring its own cares. Enough for each day are its own troubles. Matthew 6:31-34
God is all-sufficient; He is all powerful; He is all knowing!
Only a modern day Pharisee would want to rob someone of the multiplex of God’s abundance! There is liberty that is in Christ to petition God for the miraculous without a rebuke from God. James said: If any of you lack wisdom; let him ask of God who gives to all men liberally and does not upbraid them and it shall be given them. Wisdom and the miraculous often accompany one another.
Example the wisdom of Jesus in walking according to the perfect will of the Father availed in the opportunity to be in the right place at the right time to accomplish the miraculous. Lazarus being raised from the dead for example! Brethren; didn’t Jesus say the works that I do; you shall do greater works! Was this only for the first century Church or is the miraculous still prevalent for today? I’ve seen to many miracles to say that it was just for the first century Church and whoever teaches different is probably a Modern Pharisee! Is there practical wisdom for today? Emphatically Yes!
Paul teaches us 2nd Thessalonians:
(10) For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
(11) For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
(12) Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
(13) But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing. 2nd Thessalonians 3:10-13
Brethren; Jesus is concerned with the Spirit, Soul, and Body! He is also concerned with our social lives and how that we treat those around us! We are called to be witnesses of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is a miraculous Savior who saves, heals, and delivers those who come to HIM. The Messengers are not the Message! The Message is the Miraculous Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Yes we preach a crucified and resurrected Christ. We live a crucified and resurrected life in Christ. Salvation is a miracle which opens the door to more miracles. God will always be miraculous and will call those who have faith to believe for the miraculous. When we subtract the miraculous from the message; aren’t we subtracting the Savior’s miraculous power to change the heart of a sinner, to heal the body of a saint, and to deliver a tormented mind from demonic possession? Inadvertently aren’t we say that God can’t change the nature of water and make it solid without freezing it that he can walk upon it.
Isn’t Jesus the same; yesterday, today, and forever? If we can only trust in the modern (so-called) miracles of humanity; then why trust Jesus at all? My bible teaches me that nothing; absolutely nothing is impossible for God. If it is something I need to accomplish his plan and purpose for my life; He will provide it either by means of walking in his wisdom or him doing a miracle! I will never succumb to the message of Modern Pharisees who deny the power of God to intervene and command things to happen according to his purposes. Selah
Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
