Matthew 26:53,54 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
There was a book out a few years ago by Bill O'Reilly called, "Killing Jesus." It was part of series of books he had written about people that were assascinated. I never read the book or cared to, because I knew it was in error before wasting time reading it. Nobody killed Jesus. It was the plan of God all along that He would send His only begotten Son into this world to die for the sins of all who would put their trust in Him. It was the only way to reconcile fallen man to God the Father. God would literally be born into this world, become a man, and pay the penalty for sins that we committed. Jesus didn't have to die on that cross. He didn't have to leave heaven to come to earth. He didn't have to go through with the plan after he came here. He did all of this for the sake of His elect, because He loves us. The point is, don't let anyone tell you that men killed God, because that did not happen. God the Son willingly laid down His life for us that we could be saved.

What did JESUS say , NO MAN takes my life from ME , I LAY it down . I have POWER to lay itdown and to raise it up again .
And some time later on the night of his betrayal , let us read something . We seek JESUS , and HE said I am HE , and THEY FELL BACKWARDS TO THE GROUND . TO THE GROUND . Now these men were unable to even take hold on HIM . They had come marching in with the full intent of taking him down and yet WHEN HE SAID I AM HE all fell to the ground . And JESUS said again WHOM SEEK YE and they said JESUS and HE THEN gave had to give them permission by allowing Himself to be taken . YEAH . THEY FELL DOWN . NO MAN could take HIS LIFE PERIOD , HE had to willfully lay it down . ON that note , I suggest everyone JUST PRAISE THE HOLY LORD FOR HIS MERCY . PRAISE THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY that HE even drew us to the SON . PRAISE THE LORD that HE KEEPS guard over our heart , ONLY WE BETTER HEED HIS UNCTIONS , WE BETTER KEEP HEEDING HE WHO SPEAKS FROM HEAVEN lest our end be a bitter one . HE supplies all we need , only unto HE we better heed .

That truly must have been a SIGHT to behold . Imagine all these men , all pumped up and ready to take down one man, Or who they THOUGHT was just a man . And they come in all ready , and ask for JESUS , He then says I am HE .............. and the whole lot just .................FALLS TO THE GROUND .

If we heard of this , that no man could take HIM without His permission . IF His enemies could not overcome Him , while he was on earth . JUST wait till the day of armegeddon . Satan , the dragon, the beast , the fp , IT WONT BE NO MATCH . JUST POOF you OUTTA HERE . THAT is the POWER OF OUR LORD and no darkness can STOP HIM . If on earth by speaking HE could cast out a thousand demons WHO ALL were terrified of HIM, Wait till HE RETURNS , they will not even be able to put up a one second fight . BOOM its over . THERE IS NO POWER like GOD . SO let the lambs fully trust in the BLOOD of Christ and fully trust in all that is written . TRUSTING IN GOD and having no fear of man . For while man can kill us , torment us , take our things etc, CANT TAKE OUR JOY IN THE LORD FROM US . HANDS UP AND LET ALL REJOICE IN THE LORD and in the LORD LET ALL REJOICE .

Jesus was fulfilling the plan of salvation in coming as a lamb to the slaughter. When he returns, he will come back as a conquering King. What made me think about this topic was not the Bill O'Reilly book, (though that book came to my remembrance), but something a person told me last week. They said they couldn't believe Jesus is God because that would mean men killed God. Men didn't kill God. We need to understand that. There is one God that exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Even God the Son wasn't dead in the sense of not being aware during those three days. The physical body was dead, but he was in the heart of the earth preaching to the OT saints, and leading them to heaven. Jesus wasn't dead, only the physical body was dead, just like we never really die. Only the physical body dies and is laid to rest until the time of the physical resurrection. To say men killed God or even the Son of God is a complete misunderstanding of what took place on the cross.

Therefore doth my father love me, because I lay down my life that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down, of myself: I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. John 10:17,18
If anyone questions whether or not Jesus was killed or laid down his life, this is answered here. Jesus said that no man takes his life. He laid it down willingly of himself. If anyone questions whether or not Jesus is God, they shouldn't when you see what he says next. Jesus has the power to lay down His life and the power to take it again. Only God can do that. While Jesus' physical body experienced death, no man killed the real Jesus. He was alive the whole time, while His body remained in the tomb, and when the time came, He raised his own body from the grave.

And what a gem of beauty it is .
Imagine having been their as a witness that very night .
A whole entire mob of folks come marching in and everyone seems powerless to stop them . You hear then hear JESUS say whom do ye seek ..................and they say JESUS of Nazareth . NOW VISUALIZE THIS . All of a sudden they just fall smack to the GROUND , POWERLESS TO TAKE HIS LIFE or do ANYTHING . What a sight that would have been . AND IT SHOWS that JESUS HAD TO WILLFULLY LAY DOWN HIS LIFE that not a soul one COULD TAKE IT . YOU GOTTA LOVE IT . THE LORD REALLY DID GIVE UP HIS LIFE FOR US . HE TRULY DID , no man took it from him . YALL KNOW ITS PRAISE TIME ON THAT NOTE >

For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. — Hebrews 2:16-17

...AND IT SHOWS that JESUS HAD TO WILLFULLY LAY DOWN HIS LIFE that not a soul one COULD TAKE IT .
This also show this:
“So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,
and rose up and thrust Him out of the city; and they led Him to the brow of the hill
on which their city was built, that they might throw Him down over the cliff.” - Luke 4:28-29
It is game over, you would say. But:
“Then passing through the midst of them, He went His way.” - Luke 4:30
“...no one laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.” - John 7:30
No one could take it. Really!
“For if a man finds his enemy, will he let him get away safely?...” - 1 Samuel 24:19
Glory to God! Amen.
