Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.
This is an important thing to remember. Divisions bring destruction. If we are speaking of a nation, if the people are divided, it will lead to destruction. Look at the example of Israel in the Old Testament. King Solomon had laid a lot of heavy burdens on the people, and his son was taking over. The people went to him and asked that he would lighten their load, and he refused, which led to a dividing of the Kingdom into two parts. State's rights led to a civil war in America. Jesus said every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, no exceptions. It doesn't always happen overnight, but it happens.
The same principal applies to a city or house. Satan knows this, and so do his people. Even Paul used this knowledge to divide the religious groups that were opposing him, by using their disagreement over the resurrection to his advantage. How does that apply to us? If we are not careful, those who oppose us will seek to divide and conquer. I saw some trying to stir a division in a couple of places yesterday at WCF. They see a disagreement, and exploit it. There was an attempt to turn me against one of the brethren and there has been attempts to exploit unpopular doctrines and even pervert what was actually said to create divisions. Thankfully, we are not ignorant of the devil's devises, but it is more important now than ever we remain one in purpose. That is the only way we will succeed. No kingdom, city or house that is divide against itself shall stand. Remember that whenever Satan is trying to stir up divisions.

Selfishness is the root of division. People get it in their head that they know what's best, or they deserve to have more than the others, or they should be in charge, or they're exempt from the rules. Peter tells us (1 Peter 2:18) to obey those in authority whether or not they are nice. If we're constantly looking for excuses to undermine a system, we will do more harm than good.

You just throw those hands up and praise the LORD . Our kingdom is not this world . We will just love the truth and put on the armor of the LORD and forward march. We need to all remember something . I have seen many who become connected by their political , national views . but this leaves us blind to other things . IF we focus on TRUTH it becomes apparent WHO is truly following Christ but when people are connected by politics they can often be in agreement , yet serious correction is needed in one , but its not seen because the conversation is mostly political. an example could be say two people are supporter of Obama, so they agree he did a good job and they spend time defending him they get close , YET do we really know the others doctrine . NO , I have seen this happen a lot . and then IF doctrine does get brought up , SUDDENLY they realize oh dear , this other person never even followed Christ at all. Our focus MUST be on the gospel , so the correction can be given if one is in some kind of error concerning the faith . I don't get into politics I stay focused ON the faith . I might mention we ought not to trust or etc , but I mention to avoid trusting in any man . IF we stay focused soley on doctrine , we can get the errors fixed much faster . but focus on politics and its just strife , strife and sides get formed. but for all the wrong reasons . This we must be careful . the souls of others are far too important . NOW throw those hands up and praise the LORD >

I felt it was important to bring back this warning from scripture about a divided house. We know that no two people will agree on all matters, but the leadership here does have important things that should unite us.
First, we all believe the Bible is God's Word, and for the Christian, obedience is not optional. We believe God will not lead or instruct us to violate His Word, ever. We believe that salvation can only come through faith in Jesus, and He is the only path to salvation. We reject the authority of the Pope, and serve only Jesus.
These are important things that should unite us, and they do distinguish us from most message boards, especially that obedience to scripture is not optional if we are to serve the Lord. We have a real opportunity to make a difference in lives, but we must be united or Satan will destroy or at the least hinder our progress.
