And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel. — Matthew 2:5-6 Find the original prophecy! But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. Micah 5:2
The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. Genesis 49:10
Here is a verse that could be a hidden prophecy about Jesus.
See therefore, and take knowledge of all the lurking places where he hideth himself, and come ye again to me with the certainty, and I will go with you: and it shall come to pass, if he be in the land, that I will search him out throughout all the thousands of Judah. 1 Samuel 23:23

I overlooked this challenge. I will go back and search for that prophecy.

Challenge: find Jesus in Judges!

Challenge: find Jesus in Judges! I don't know of any hidden prophecy, but the recurring theme in Judges was Israel in bondage to different oppressors because of their sins, and God raising up a deliverer. Jesus came to deliver a hopelessly sin sick people from the bondage of sin. Romans 7:23-8:3
But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. THERE is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh.
Whether it was Samson or one of a number of men God raised up, when Israel was in bondage, God would raise up a deliverer.

New challenge: And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up — John 3:14Explain. That is a story I am familiar with. The children of Israel were doing what they often times did, complaining, and God was upset with them, so he sent deadly snakes. The people were getting bit and dying, and when Moses sought God for them, rather than getting rid of the snakes, God had Moses create a snake, put it on a stick and when the people would get bit and look at the snake, they would not die.
I would imagine that they didn't fully understand the significance of the serpent, but it was a sign concerning Jesus being lifted up on a cross. The medical symbol with the snake on a post is based on that serpent. It is funny how many people talk about lifting Jesus higher, based on that scripture that says "if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me." They are speaking of lifting up in praise and worship, but that is not the meaning at all. It is speaking of him being crucified to pay the penalty for our sins.

Here is the actual story from Exodus chapter 21:5-9
And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people ; and much people of Israel died. Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up. That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:14,15
And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. John 12:32

“I will establish one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them —
My servant David. He shall feed them and be their shepherd.” - Ezekiel 34:23
“And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring,
and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.” - John 10:16
“For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.” - 1 Peter 2:25
Jesus is in Ezekiel 34:23.

The parallels I am going to share came from something I read. These are not things I would have concluded myself, but they are interesting.
1 David entered into hiding a cave of Adullan. Jesus entered into darkness of this world.
2 David attracted to the hopeless souls. Jesus came to save lost souls.
3 David expressed loneliness and pain to God. Jesus experienced pain and suffering in the flesh.
4 David became captain and leader over 400 souls. Jesus became Captain of our souls.

AND there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reigns. The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious. Isaiah 11:1-10

Challenge:
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
