Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Do you think this is about shaking off the heavy shackles of sin, or the law of Moses and replacing it by grace?

Personally I think it’s about tiresome works of human flesh, whether works of sin, works of moral effort, or works of Pharisee tradition. When you are not in the Lord’s will, anything you do takes twice as much work. Keeping the bills paid, keeping the kids in school, keeping a job, keeping up a ministry, anything... without an anointing, these endeavors will exhaust you. When you are operating in the Lord’s will, you are still “doing” things but it feels effortless.

Do you think this is about shaking off the heavy shackles of sin, or the law of Moses and replacing it by grace? I would say it is getting loose from the heavy load of accumulated sins.

I never thought about it like that, but when I am doing things just to do them, I will suffer burn out, but not when I am working for God and know I am in the center of His will.

I think this means that if we have a heart to please the Lord, then it won't be a difficult task to please Him.

I think this means that if we have a heart to please the Lord, then it won't be a difficult task to please Him. That is an interesting thought. I know that God knows when we are sincerely trying to please Him and when we are playing games. When He sees we are doing our best, he gives more grace.
