THE FULLNESS OF JOY
(11) Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11
Sunday Worship should be spiritually fortified and energized with unlimited love for the Lord. The expression of our heart displayed publicly in adoration for our God. When the Word is taught in Sunday Study it should be contemplated, discerned, and absorbed. When the Worship begins our hearts should be clear of all worldly debris and concentrated solely upon the Lord who bought us with his blood. When the preaching of the Word comes forth we should be spiritually, mentally, and bodily attached to every word! Man cannot live by bread that perishes with the eating; but by every eternal morsel of the Word of God. Sunday Worship is an engagement with the Creator of ALL! It is up to us how engaging we want to be!
We can make it a formal affair of spiritual eloquence or a shabby half-hearted occasion of tolerance. We are going to see the King! Isn’t a King someone worth putting all our effort into appeasing in worshipful adoration? We may come casual on the outside but we should be formal on the inside; it’s all about Him! The blessing of worship is when we bless the Lord the Lord blesses us! When the praises go up the blessings come down in the form of the presence of the Lord! In his presence is the fullness of joy!
(7) The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
(8) The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
(9) The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
(10) More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
(11) Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. Psalm 19:7-11
In Christ we have the perfect law of liberty! O the law that sets the sinner free! When we worship the Lord in spirit and truth we partake of this perfect law that liberates. To deny ourselves the freedom which is found in the purity of worship is to an affront to ourselves and an insult to our Savior who laid down his life to free us from the penalty of sin. He has fulfilled the law of ordinances which was against us nailing them to the cross being a sinless and guiltless lamb without spot or blemish. Our faith works through the indwelling love of Christ the Author and Perfecter of our faith. He gave us a new commandment; love God with your all and to love one another as I have loved you! Our liberty is not a license to gratify our own indulges but to serve God in Spirit and his Truth!
(13) For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
(14) For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Galatians 5:13-14
In Christ there is truly joy unspeakable and full of glory; yet we must put to death the deeds of the flesh and seek those things above where Christ sits on the right hand of God! Worship elevates us because worship brings us into his presence when we set aside everything to enter into his presence with thanksgiving in our hearts.
Brethren a person is known by their words and deeds. If our deeds don’t line up with our words then we are just empty vessels; empty jars of clay which has plenty of room to have his Spirit poured into! But when we line up our deeds with our words we also have something to pour out of ourselves.
When we walk in the Word we are walking in submission; submission brings unity and unity brings joy because we are at one with Christ. We become teachable through the fact that we’ve accepted Jesus and divine revelation. The result of unity is protection and then transformation fueled by love.
(7) Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
(8) He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
(9) In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
(10) Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
(11) Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 1st John 4:7-11
Jesus prayed for our unity or oneness with Him and the Father. We have come under the authority of Christ and through that submission we are under the authority of the Father. A certain joy and enthusiasm comes through our pursuit of the oneness of the triune God. Unity and Harmony result in this pursuit. Hence real expectations of corporeal and eternal joy are realized.
(1) “Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me.
(2) In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you.
(3) If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also.
(4) Where I go, you know, and you know the way.”
(5) Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going. How can we know the way?”
(6) Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:1-6
Brethren with enthusiasm from on high I am ecstatic about bringing the message of the fullness of joy! With joy and assurance I will take communion; the bread and the wine of the Spirit. I will bring to remembrance the sacrifice that has wrought my liberty, my love, and my joy! I am en + theos = enthused for I am in Christ and Christ is in me! Therefore:
(13) I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD. Psalm 116:13
Brethren; there is a joy so deep and abundant; it is a river in my soul and spirit. It perpetuates itself as I lift up my eyes to the skies and glorify the Creator and Life-Giver! Come and dine the Master calleth come and dine! Selah!
Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
