Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

We were just talking about the religious leaders, and look at the false televangelists that are out there with a following in the millions. They are highly esteemed among men, but those preachers that stand on the truth in those little country churches are looked at as nothing. Sadly, they are getting harder and harder to find.

well... the king of this world, little k, can give you anything your heart desires. money. fame. mansions. cars. private jets.
and waddayaknow??? lots of those guys have those things.
but do not despair... God always leaves a remnant. He did when the chaldeans invaded. 10% got left behind to work the fields. it is true... the laborers are few. so we pray. because God does not change.
the only reason we are vexed is because we have tasted The LORDs goodness. Lot was vexed too, scripture says... even The LORD Jesus came and suffered... God does not promise we wont suffer in this life. Just remember... even Jesus suffered.
and it is this very thing that brings us to truly know Him. to suffer long. and to be patient thru it. to remain faithful to Him even when others go the wrong way. we remain on the Narrow Way.
Even those saints under the throne of God said to God ... how long until you avenge our blood? i think its common place to be waiting on God to right the wrongs... to serve justice. and He will. so let us not become weary in well doing.
The Lord is coming and His reward is with Him. to see Him face to face. To become like Him. to know Him like He knows us.

That one comment Jesus made is interesting. Since John the Baptist came on the scene, the Kingdom of God is preached. That is simple enough, as we see John preaching we should repent because the Kingdom of God is at hand, and Jesus preached the same message, but the comment I am uncertain about is how every man presses in. The most obvious meaning to me is that all men are trying to get in, though many are doing it their own way and falling short, but some men have no regard for God whatsoever, so it leaves me somewhat uncertain of the exact meaning.

Could it be that every man doesn't mean every man, but only those who are trying to get in?

Could it be that every man doesn't mean every man, but only those who are trying to get in? Do you mean it may be meaning that every man that is entering into the Kingdom is pressing into it? Are you saying that it doesn't mean literally every man? If so, I think you may be right, but it could mean that all men are trying to be saved in one way or another. I am really not certain.
