So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

This parable is often overlooked, because it only appears in the book of Mark. There are several things to consider here. First of all, who is the man that cast the seed into the ground? The initial thought might be to think it is God, but there is one big problem with that. It says he rises night and day, the seed springs and grows up, and the man doesn't know how this occurs.
The earth brings forth of itself. That is evident by all the wild plants and vines that grow on their own, but what does the seed represent? The seed, a blade, then an ear, and then the full corn. As soon as this happens, immediately the sickle is put to it as the harvest is ready. What does this represent? Any thoughts are welcome.
