After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. A-men.

Out of all the things Jesus says in this model prayer, there is nothing that stands out more to me than saying to God, "Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." I wonder how many times we ask for things that are amiss or they are lustful desires. Still, if we are asking that God's will be done, it is to our benefit. What might happen if we got everything we want all time, where would we be? God knows what is best, so rather than giving God a laundry list of "give me" items and name it and claim it demands, next time we enter the prayer closet, be sure to let the Lord know that when we ask for something, we would always desire that God's will be done.
