A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.

The Lord is preparing a great supper, and his invitations have gone out into the world. How will we respond? Will we send in our RSVP and say with certainty we will be there, or will we be like the first group that was invited, full of excuses and choosing not to attend?
There are different ways you can look at this. The invitation first went out to Israel, and they refused, so the gospel was taken to the gentiles. That certainly is true, and this did occur. At the same time, the majority of the Jews didn't just make excuses, but they outright rejected the Lord. They didn't just ask to please be excused from the supper, but they crucified the Lord.
The message of the gospel has gone out into all the world, as I said, first to the Jews and later to the gentile nations, that whosoever will may come. Many are so busy with their earthly pursuits, they can't find time for Jesus. As such, they will find themselves losing out with God. Heed the warning.
For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.
I pray that all of us will accept the invitation when it arrives, because we may not get another chance.

Let all put those hands to the plow and may none ever look back . Its forward in the LORD doing all things that Honor Him . Someone had a dream once . In the dream the lady saw a huge ship in the ocean . And it was full of passengers . She then went real quicly to say goodbye to friends and family . Upon returning she looked out into the great ocean and the ship WAS GONE .

Maybe the invitation went out to the religious leaders and the important people, and they all refused. Then the invitation went out to the common men and women, and they came.

No matter who it went out to that refused to come, the main thing is that there is nothing in this world that we can ever face that is so important that we would turn down an invitation from the Lord to this supper.
