I am looking for an honest answer here. Is there even one example, even one scripture, where any disciple, or apostle in the bible used the method of only speaking about Gods love alone? we can even go with the OT too, any priest or prophet... anyone... even one example in the bible of this oh so popular method of "drawing them in" was ever used in scripture.
I have looked and asked... both hands are empty.
the purpose of this thread is to see if there is any validity to many preachers and teachers and evangelists methods these days... or is just a bunch of unbiblical hogwash?

Paul said he preached with demonstration of power and not pretty words. Pentecost was a demonstration of power. They preached the resurrection as an undeniable fact. We have a few examples of verbatim sermons — Stephen’s defense, Paul before Agrippa — and none of them say “God loves you.” They testified to the power of Jesus, and they said you must repent. That’s all.
When we look at Jonah evangeligizing the Ninevites, he didn’t walk around saying “God loves you.” The first thing he said was “this city will be gone in 40 days.”
Imagine if a famous preacher stood up in front of a crowd and said “God will destroy this city in 40 days unless you repent.”

This is a good question . Also look at how PETER on the day of pentcost UNDER THE POWER of the SPIRIT SPOKE TO THEM . DO NOTICE THREE THOUSAND GOT SAVED . The fear of GOD was put in them . NOW I agree we can say GOD is love and we can talk about that too . But for the most part too we have to say it all man . Just say it all . Its like paul once said , BEHOLD BOTH the GOODNESS and SEVERITY OF GOD .

SO many have been taught for about two or at least one generation a real bad example of evangelizing that went from bad to worse . So bad now they wont dare even make mention of JUDGMENT , or anything to come . YET as sister candance pointed out LOOK what paul tells Agrippa . WE GOTTA SAY IT ALL , the cards fall where they fall . GOD knows who are coming , we just need to stick with the original pattern . HOLD fast to that .

What giller jus spoke about today about church and etc , man did I experience it tonight . And yet by the very one who accused me of being like a Pharisee . IF warning and reminding folks that celebrity Christians who may thank GOD YET look at what they support . THEY are big supports of the PRONOUN generation and gay marriage . DIDNT GOD SAY , this people honors me with their lips , BUT THEY HEART IS FAR FROM ME . Yet , by the man who said I outta be churched and then did not like the church I do attend , calls me a Pharisee for exposing these for being false . Its not like I am running to his pastor any time fast , I mean His pastor must be like he is , OR HE WOULD NOT STAY THERE .

I don't know of any place in the Bible that teaches that. The sermons we do see in the Bible were hard messages compared to what we see today.

If Paul, Peter, James, John, Jude, Stephen, even Jesus Christ spoke as they did in the Bible, they would be called legalists and Pharisees at most churches and places like WCF. They would likely be banned or on moderator review for being non-conformists there.

If they called you a Pharisee, that is supposed to be a violation of their rules. You should report them. It violates their TOS, not that I really think those hypocrites will do anything about it. Still, report them. Anyone still a member there should report them.

well i did post this thread over there. i did change the wording somewhat... and in my newer posts i did draw from the wealth of knowledge others have posted here, so thanks to everyone that has participated.
but there seems to be a positive breakthru with a few members there. of course they will read this and think... us narrow wayers are plotting on them, and there is some huge plan to ... uhm. I dont know what they think really. I have not been able to figure that out yet. My real goal is to just bless people with the truth and expose the error of those shepherds that are not truly feeding the sheep... only giving them the cream, but not even the milk.

Plotting to do what? Expect them to follow their own rules against personal attacks? They should be very afraid. our troops are on their border. lol

I think a lot of the preaching today in trying to reach people are based on methods, rather than the leading of the Spirit, some are into numbers, some are into the 5 or 7 step plan, whatever steps their is in their method, it is all about the next big strategy session, or brain storming their way into the next big thing.
It is a bunch of fads.

Now they have Christian celebrities visiting churches to do interviews on stage. They get church members to invite friends to come see a TV star.
