I think most of us understand that a benefit of praying in tongues is that we bypass our intellect. When we don't know what to pray, the Spirit does. Still, most of us don't spend much time praying in the Spirit. I sort of fit into the camp of people she spoke of that spend less than 5 minutes in a typical day praying in tongues. Perhaps there is something to what she is saying, that we should increase that time praying in tongues? Interesting message.

One thing I do feel I need to say is that we need to remember that the Spirit will never lead us to violate God's standards. Some that teach walking in the Spirit are really walking according to the flesh and claiming that the Spirit gave them the okay to do things contrary to the Bible.

I do not think that praying in the Spirit is limited to tongues only.
One can indeed pray in the Spirit while speaking in human language.
If it was not possible, then when the Spirit gives a word of prophecy or knowledge or wisdom they would all have to be in tongues.
But if it is in tongues how will people understand it? When it happens, the speaker just translate what they received from the Spirit.
Another example of praying in the Spirit is when you simply do not do any effort but a lot come for you to speak as you believe.
Another example is that Jesus prayed in human language, and He was praying in the Spirit all the time.
Just do not equate praying in Spirit as praying in tongues.
Of course, praying in tongues are from the Spirit but it is not the only way.
Blessings!

When Paul spoke of praying in the Spirit, he meant tongues because he made distinction between praying in the Spirit and with understanding also.
I was really responding to the message in the video which was about how we should seek to pray in tongues more often. Did you see the video?

When Paul spoke of praying in the Spirit, he meant tongues because he made distinction between praying in the Spirit and with understanding also. Praying in the Spirit in human language, which I believe is possible and explained how in the previous is not from your mind.
As I said, it is coming from the Spirit. It is not formulated by yourself.
I was really responding to the message in the video which was about how we should seek to pray in tongues more often... And I am just explaining that praying in the Spirit means much more than to simply pray in tongues.
Even Paul encouraged those who pray in a tongue seek to interpret it (and there is learning when it happens, I believe).
There is a goal for praying in tongues (or manifesting any other gift).
“for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry,
for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith
and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man,
to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ...” - Ephesians 4:12-13
Blessings!
