I thought this might be an interesting topic. What does the Bible tell us about God? The most obvious thing we know about God from scripture is that God is love. There is scripture to back that up. 1 John 4:8
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
What else do we know about God from scripture? In this thread, I invite you to mention anything about God that can be backed up in scripture. To give you an example, we know from scripture that God is jealous. That can be seen in Deuteronomy 6:13-15
Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name. Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you; (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
So I have given you two characteristics of God: Love and Jealous.
I look forward to seeing what else is added to this list.

God is righteous: The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. — Psalm 145:17
God is just: A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight. — Proverbs 11:1
God is perfect: Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. — Matthew 5:48

God is a consuming fire.
“For our God is a consuming fire.” - Hebrews 12:29
His fire will burn all the chaff (sin, evil).
“...He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” - Matthew 3:12
“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered;
and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.” - John 15:6
But you may say: But I do not want to be burned. And I answer: God is love, just abide in Him.
“I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” - John 10:9
“And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve...” - Joshua 24:15
“...But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” - Joshua 24:15

Here is an interesting character trait of God. He is not a respecter of persons.
Then Peter opened his mouth and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
Acts 10:34,35
That was Peter's perception of God, but it came with good reason. God went out of his way to bring the gospel to Cornelius and his family because Cornelius was an upright man, even though he had not known the way of salvation of yet.

The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name. Ex. 15:3

God is holy. Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 1 Peter 1:16

Just reinforcing:
“For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.” - Deuteronomy 4:24

God is present in Love, Faith, Honesty, Truth, Humanity and Sacrifices. You can know very well about GOD in the Christian Bible based movies such as "GOD'S NOT DEAD".

For even sinners can love sinners . Lets not go in the direction of an inclusive mindset . God is not in those who deny Christ in mouth and in heart .

I guess butero spotted it too . Let us stick to ONLY the original gospel . And believe me those men never had the idea that somehow folks were coming to GOD as long as they had a form of love and good works . SEEMED to me like instead they were BUSYING PROCLAIMING the DIRE NEED to repent and believe IN CHRIST , to confess HIM and NOT to deny HIM .

As you already well know , truly its better we just learn GOD from the Bible . Movies today have been under an agenda for quite some time . And as always they come with truth and with blend .

I saw the first one. It was just okay. Keep in mind the video I shared here about a Pureflix executive pushing new age yoga meditation. Some of the people involved in that series are dangerous.

Like much entertainment today , its geared to arouse sensual emotions , play on those emotions with truths and blends in order to create another image of GOD . And while some are far worse than others , WE BETTER BE ALL ON GUARD . Specially as of late . If the ones producing and starring in these movies CANNOT discern the same dangers as even we about todays mindsets , THEN why bother . Who here is zealous to know GOD more , who here is zealous for the things that be of GOD , Let those read the bible , FOR HIS WORD is absolute truth and by the scriptures they will be made wise unto salvation through FAITH IN CHRIST .
