Here is the song: ("Once saved always saved"Eternal life, began the day, we trust in him, the only way.We cannot lose it, though we still sin.Cause it's eternal, it can never end.Chorus:Once saved, always saved, sealed unto redemption day.Once we receive, eternal life, we have his promise, we can never die.It was a gift, so undeserved, the right to keep it we can never earn.He won't take from us, what he freely gave. His word of honor, he will never break.Chorus: Once saved, always saved, sealed unto redemption day. Once we receive, eternal life, we have his promise, we can never die.I'm a new creature, I'm born again, though I still struggle, with fleshy sins.I am adopted, I am his son.Regeneration can't be undone.)Now here is the YouTube link to the song:""Once saved always saved".
You can see it is obviously full of OSAS doctrine. If there was ever a blatant case of preaching false doctrine in song, that is it!

Babylon Bee is a comedy website. Things have gotten so bad, their satire is believable.

On one hand some people say that we should not worship the Holy Spirit, and on the other hand, others say we should, but what is the truth of all this?
Here is a certain comment:
(...Is the Spirit God? Yes. Should we worship God? Yes.
On the other hand, it is natural that we don’t have so many songs to the Spirit. The Spirit is what one theologian calls the shy member of the Trinity. (I’ll write more about the place of the Spirit in the Trinity in a future post.)
That is, the Spirit points us to Jesus and the Father. The Spirit reminds us of Jesus’ teachings (John 14:26) and leads us to confess “Jesus is Lord” (1 Corinthians 12:3). And we “worship the Father in the Spirit” (John 4:23).
So, yes, we can worship the Spirit, but, at the same time, the Spirit enables our worship of the Father....)
So should we worship the Spirit, and if so in what form?
Is this a totally black and white issue? Or is there certain aspects to this?
Well I know that in one of the psalms, it says this:
Psa 51:11-12 (11) Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. (12) Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Here are some verses concerning how the word praise is used in the bible:
Deu 10:20-21 (20) Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name. (21) He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.
Jdg 5:3 (3) Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I, even I, will sing unto the LORD; I will sing praise to the LORD God of Israel.
Neh 12:46 (46) For in the days of David and Asaph of old there were chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto God.
Psa 9:2 (2) I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.
Psa 40:3 (3) And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
Psa 40:3 (3) And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
Of course there are many more verses than these, and in a certain sense, when you praise God, your are praising the 3 in one, but as far as direct praise, in the way the word praise is used in the bible, it never mentions directly about praising the Holy Spirit, I looked and could not find a direct verse that says so.
But you see all kinds of verses that says to praise the Lord, and God, but not the Holy Spirit.
We know that all 3 are one God.
But also we know that one of the works of the Holy Spirit, is to help us in worshiping the Father and the Son.
The Holy Spirit does not point to himself, but to Christ, and of course the Father.
But in saying this, does that mean the Holy Spirit should not be included in our worship songs?
Absolutely not, for he should be included in our worship songs.
And king David mentions the Holy Spirit in a psalm, which says "take not thy Holy Spirit from me".
Of the Holy Spirit it says this:
Eph 4:30 (30) And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
The Holy Spirit can be grieved, and you do not want to grieve him, but to make him feel welcome in your mist.
Here are verses on the Spirit of God:
Job 33:4 (4) The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
Psa 143:10 (10) Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
So on one hand it mentions no were to actually say praise you Holy Spirit, but in the Psalm up above it calls God's spirit good, and in Job it mentions something concerning how the Spirit of God in essence created man.
So I believe it is right to include the Holy Spirit in our songs, and to declare his goodness, his works and so on.
To acknowledge him and his works, to make him feel welcome in our midst.
One song I like is this one:
"Welcome Holy Spirit
Welcome Holy Spirit We are in Your presence Fill us with Your power Live inside of me
You're the Living Water Never drying Fountain Comforter and Counselor Take complete control
Fill us with Your power Live inside of me"

If the Holy Spirit is God, why wouldn't we give praise and worship to him? If we believe in the Holy Trinity, there is nothing wrong with giving praise and worship to the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

Oh I believe in having the Holy Spirit in our worship or praise songs, especially in the way that I have mentioned it.
The bible does not show a direct praise of the Holy Spirit in the sense of "I praise you Holy Spirit", but it does show some type of praise towards his works and who he is, which he is good.
Psa 143:10
(10) Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
And the way David mentioned him, it was in the realm of his need for the Holy Spirit ("take not thy Holy Spirit from me").
Just seeking to be biblical without adding or taking away from the word.
And of course one of the Holy Spirit's jobs is to point us to Christ.

It seems that in many churches, at times, some of the older crowd tends to want only hymns, and at times, some of the young people only want new songs, and not hymns.
There seems to be to some degree a disconnect.

There seems to be to some degree a disconnect. I prefer just singing out of the hymn book, but I agree with Solid. You can have some of both, as long as we are not talking about having rock style music in the church. I don't see any place for that in God's house.

The Spirit inspires praise and worship, but He always seems to point us to give praise and worship to the Father and the Son rather than to self. Still, the Spirit is God and part of the Trinity. If you are worshipping the Father, you are worshipping the Son and the Holy Spirit, and if you are worshipping the Son, you are worshipping the Father and the Holy Spirit, because all 3 are God, but still, there are differences. There is the issue of blasphemy, and how you can speak against the Father and Son and find forgiveness, but not against the Holy Spirit. I don't think there is anything wrong with worship of the Holy Spirit, but I am not sure there is any reason to go out of our way to direct worship that way when the Spirit is desiring we worship the Father and the Son.

I personally think that both hymns and new songs are good, as long as they are of God and scriptural, and that the music is sung and played in a way that would be pleasing to God.
Eph 5:19 (19) Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
I think that the main focus should not be on hymns vs new songs vs spiritual songs etc., but rather it should be focused on whether it is godly or not.
We are told to be conformed to Christ's image, and we may have preferences towards the hymns or new songs, but let us seek to allow all that God has for us.
