I just got word that my Father is in the hospital. He is feeling okay, but had bad results on his latest blood work that could indicate leukemia. I likely won't know whether he has that till this evening, but he needs prayer, as does my Mother who is obviously worried.

I wanted to let you all know that my Father took a turn for the worse and passed away this evening. The family was with him and he was saved. Thank you all for your prayers. It means a lot. I will be scarce at times this week but will check in as much as possible.

I'm sorry to hear about your father, John. It's not easy to lose a parent, and I pray the Lord to comfort you and your family.
1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

... The family was with him and he was saved...
“...I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who
have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that
Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.” - 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

The only Good news is that at least he was saved . Now he is in a far better place than all of us who are still here . To be absent from the body IS , IS to be present with the LORD .

Thank you all for your prayers, and yes, my Father is in a better place than we are. I do take comfort in knowing he is saved. And Cletus, I will say a prayer for your Mother-in-law right now.

...I do take comfort in knowing he is saved...
One of my uncles died recently and I could not have any good hope. Unfortunately!

I am sorry to hear that. We all have to make our own decision to accept or reject the Lord. It is sad to lose any loved one, but extra hard when you know they rejected Christ.
