Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
Apostle Paul

We are taught to be cautious, prudent, watchful. That is what circumspectly means. We are to redeem the time, make the best use of it. There are a lot of things we can make resolutions to do in 2020, or changes we can make in the new year, but making good use of our time is certainly one of them. When I say making good use, I mean in service to the Lord. How can we find ways to serve God each and every day of the year? How can we be good disciples?

Me and my friend were actually talking about this scripture the other day.
Of course here is the Ephesians scripture:
Eph 5:15-16 (15) See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, (16) Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Here is the Thayer definition of circumspectly:
(Thayer's Greek definitions)
(G199 ἀκριβῶς akribōs
Thayer Definition:
1) exactly, accurately, diligently Part of Speech: adverb A Related Word by Thayer’s/Strong’s Number: from the same as G196)
And really it goes pretty much with what you said about being prudent, cautious, watchful.
And what my friend mentioned was 2 reference verses, which are these:
Gal 6:10 (10) As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Col 4:5-6 (5) Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. (6) Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
I think of, 2 key things here, concerning redeeming the time, which is to redeem the time because the days are evil, and to redeem the time, by walking in wisdom toward them that are without.

Time is precious and something we can't get back. We need to use it wisely.

Time is precious and something we can't get back. We need to use it wisely. That's right , do every minute of every day , Let us walk BY the SPIRIT and in all that we do or say may it honor HE who has saved us and Is able to keep us from falling . For if we heed HIM , then we shall never fall . HANDS up triple sevens , ITS A JOY to always POINT TO THE LORD . makes the heart swell with just JOY . SO hands up and let us all rejoice in the LORD .

Time is precious and something we can't get back. We need to use it wisely. The Bible refers to the devil as being a thief. One thing he is great at stealing is our time. There is no better time than as we enter a new year to be aware of this so we can take counter measures.
