I am doing the reading in Leviticus right now. Why does the Lord tell us all of these things that are unclean? I am thinking they are symbolic of our fallen nature but not sure? Such as Diseases and a woman's monthly bleeding.

Unclean doesn't mean in the sense of sinful. There are a lot of things that would make a person ceremonially unclean. Just touching a person that died would make a person unclean. A woman was unclean for a certain number of days after giving birth. It just meant they were unable to come into the presence of a Holy God. I think it is reflective of God's holiness. He is so holy, the slightest thing would keep you from coming before him.
This shows us how much things have changed under the New Covenant and how powerful the blood of Jesus is. We can enter into the Holy of Holies because we are washed in the blood. So long as we don't have any unconfessed willful sins on our garments, we can go right before God's throne.

Yes I am so thankful I am under the blood... it's just a bit difficult to understand all of this so I was trying to figure out what the significance of the mandates God gave as to what was unclean really meant. I truly think they were things that had become fallen in nature and therefore weren't Holy before God. I hope I am making sense. But, it helps to understand that and see how important the Blood of Christ is, not just for salvation but to just be able to go to God without all of those things standing between us and him.

It is a really good question that you asked. It is just one of those things we cannot be sure of. We can see that certain things made a man or woman unclean, but God doesn't say why, and in many cases, those things that are unclean are things a person could not do anything about. In thinking about it, the only thing I can think of is that we have a picture being given to us about just how holy our God is, that things like having some minor imperfection would disqualify you from being able to do certain things in the office of the Priesthood, or someone having an issue of blood caused them to be unclean. It shows just how essential the blood of Jesus is in our salvation, and that without it, we could never stand in God's presence. It definitely teaches us about clean and unclean, and it also brings up a question about cleanliness in general. There is an old saying that "cleanliness is next to Godliness." That is not found in the Bible, but it is true in the sense that being washed clean in the blood of the Lamb is the only way to have access to God.

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Heb 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. Heb 10:2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. Heb 10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. Heb 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Heb 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: Heb 10:6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Heb 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. Heb 10:8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; Heb 10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. and here it is: 1Pe 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
these sacrifices are from the heart... thanks praise worship etc.

When you see how many things were required for the people to observe under the law of Moses, it really makes you appreciate the new and better covenant.

When you see how many things were required for the people to observe under the law of Moses, it really makes you appreciate the new and better covenant. There is no doubt about that. A person would violate the law very easily without realizing it because there was so much to keep up with, and even if they were not committing a sin, they would go through things that would make them unclean. This meant constant animal sacrifices. We do have it a lot better under the New Covenant, but one thing many don't realize is that had Jesus not gone to the cross, those old animal sacrifices would have been for nothing. Everything in the old was temporary to get us to the new, and those things were dependent on Jesus death on the cross.
It is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to wash away sins. The only reason they had value, was because God saw the sacrifice His son would make in shedding his blood in the future. It is like that brazen serpent. It had no power to heal in itself, but it was showing that Christ would one day come and that He would bear stripes for our healing. The Levitical Priesthood and all of those symbolic ordinances were as a type of temporary system that would act as a bridge to get us to Calvary. Had Jesus not died on the cross, nobody, including those who had kept the law to the letter, would have been saved.

The Law sure was a constant reminder of how unclean and sinful the people were to a holy, holy, holy God. To teach them that they just couldn't really do enough to make themselves clean enough. And teach them of the difference between the holy and profane. So many laws and requirements...so many hoops to jump through...constant reminders every day of the fact of uncleanness. The strength of sin is the law. A few did begin to see through the law by faith though, and had a living relationship with the Lord....the prophets and saints of old.
Amen...I'm also so thankful for what Jesus did for us! Only His blood can make us clean, once and for all! Now it's on the basis of having already been washed in His blood and made holy and clean that we endeavour by His grace to walk in what the Lord has already done for us and imputed to us...He broke open the new & living Way. What a blessed people we are....thank you Jesus!

When you see how many things were required for the people to observe under the law of Moses, it really makes you appreciate the new and better covenant. Yes , by JESUS we now have great love for all that is righteous and By HIS BLOOD alone do we ourselves have access to the throne of Grace . No more having to bring a dove , or lamb , or etc for our errors . Let no man sin , but if one does err, we now have an advocate in HEAVEN who we by HIM our great high priest , we can simply confess unto GOD our faults and by heart we repent of the error . The work of GOD is a beauty and the BLOOD of JESUS can reach the innermost of our being, flooding our conscious and making us aware of all that is righteous in His sight , and making us aware of how greatly evil sin is . I mean even when a wicked thought of the flesh enters our mind , we have a grieving of even that on our conscious and we flee it . Sin becomes exceeding sinful, in essence we become aware of how evil it truly is , we literally die to sin , its affections , we live unto Christ . And anyone who truly has their senses worked on , KNOWS this . Every appearance of evil should have our conscious feeling vexed and danger bells should be sounding . BUT , the reason many either never had this or they now don't , IS because one thing can harden a heart , dulling the senses , SIN . SIN will surely choke the word , SIN will grieve the Spirit , I have seen this . First hand I have witnessed this . One can be on fire for the LORD , they can see sin as evil , they can have that unction but then they begin to entertain the lustful thoughts , THEN they begin to act them out , THEN their mind becomes cloudy , no longer do they see that particular sin and evil and griveious but rather they begin to make excuse for it , and go to those who would even say its not sin , or make it light , no big deal etc . THEN they keep getting worse , YET all the while they think they are safe and headed in the right direction . IF sin has become no big deal , if we can justify or make excuse or try and omit our evil , FOLKS WE IN GRAVE danger and sin has began its work of hardening a heart . This is why its dire important that if we have faults we confess and pray to be healed . IF one errs we correct quickly , lest satan gain the all out advantage and lead that one only farther into darkness . WE have an advocate , and its why IF ONE ERRS , YA RUN TO CHRIST , you pray for forgivness and you cease that fault or error .

OH BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS CAN . Yep my dear sister , no blood of animals nor any can Do what the BLOOD of our eternal LORD can do and does do . Its time for a praise fest unto the LORD .

And one more reminder . WHY did GOD not even see nor desire their sacrfices any longer . Because so many were just sinning away and then when it was time to go through the motions they were like OKAY good I am clean again , NOW lets go right back into doing our evil , etc . In other words their sacrifices were not even from the heart , Its a lot like confession in many today . OH some churches teach , and many are of the opinion , OH we can sin , we can live like the devil all week and then GO confess it on sunday . Daddy god is love , he knows stuff . But rest assured , GOD KNOWS WHO LOVES HIM and WHO DOES NOT . HE knows who is OF CHRIST and who is not . HE sees all , hears all , knows all , and HE can discern ANY INTENTION of the heart . HE KNOWS why folks do as they do , no matter if they kid or deceive themselves , THEY AINT FOOLING GOD . A true lamb hates sin , he hates the evils of his own flesh , He follows CHRIST , for GOD has changed that lamb . But hirelings and those who follow them follow another gospel and another jesus , of which cannot save . ONLY JESUS saves , SO let alll who name the name of JESUS CHRIST , FOLLOW JESUS CHRIST fleeing evil , doing good by HE who unctions and gives us the abilty . Let all who name the name , do something that many no longer do , RETURN TO BIBLES ONLY fleeing Hermes and hirelings , TRUSTING ONLY IN GOD and feasting ON those bibles . FOR SURELY what GOD INSPIRED , HIS SPIRIT can also give the understanding of , to all who LOVE HIM .

Man , every time I go back and read what I wrote i see just how unscholarly i must sound , no wise words , no crafity elegant twisting But it sure is simple.
Oh the Lord took from me the shcolary and world wise mind , BUT GAVE ME SO MUCH MORE , the child like simplicity and simple TRUST in him and not men . AND that i would not trade in for all the worlds gold . No world wise man here . No great orater here , just a wee tiny thing , whose hope is in JESUS . and i pray only this , OH LORD where i lack you correct in mercy For i can do nothing , know nothing , understand nothing , LEST YOU GIVE ME as i need to know and the abilty to do as i need to do .

I think what you said helped me get a little more insight.
