The apostles must have been seeing the signs too. The Apostles had knowledge of what Jesus taught, but they did not have the completed Bible like we do today. For instance, they did not have Revelation. That was the last book that was written, and it was done while the Apostle John was on the isle of Patmos as a punishment for preaching the gospel. We have information the early church did not have, and we can put two and two together and see that we are living in the last days. We are also the generation that saw Israel come back as a nation. The early church was here when they were still living in Israel, but under Roman occupation.
Yes, the Roman kingdom was the last of the four kingdoms that Daniel saw and wrote about, before the Messiah was to come and establish His kingdom......which He did at the time of Roman occupation, fulfilling Daniel's prophesies about that. And the apostles could not have been wrong or false in what they wrote in holy scripture under inspiration...how they were living in the "last time" and "upon whom the end of the ages has come" etc. It depends on what GOD means by these things.....a lot of those prophecies were to Israel first.....a lot of the apocalyptic things written in the OT were foreseeing the apostasy and destruction of Jerusalem d/t rejecting the Messiah. We take the advent of Messiah/Christ for granted, but need to remember how His coming was totally apocalyptic and a complete change of paradigm for Israel.....those prophesies were written to Israel and for Israel. (....first, at least. And then some of it perhaps to the Gentiles/church later. But we need to at least see them first from Israel's point of view if we want to begin parsing them accurately.) It's pretty much common knowledge how the abomination of desolation that Jesus spoke of, as well as the early mostly Jewish Christians fleeing to the mountains and escaping the wrath of God when Jerusalem was surrounded by armies....all happened in 70 AD. I've heard and known about that for decades and haven't even studied church history, but the penny never really dropped. Why Jesus when He was carrying His cross told the woman to weep not for Him but to weep for her children...because her children would be alive to live through the terrible visitation of the wrath of God upon Israel/Jerusalem and Temple. Thus the old covenant passing away and the establishment of the new. Heb 9:8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing

How on earth could they even KNOW its one hundred years too soon . Even paul said TIME is Short . The only thing i look at and watch is the SIGNS of the TIMES itself . And its saying loudly that the time is at hand . That time is short and that the coming of the LORD does draw nigh . All of which even the apostels themselves said . Its the last generation especially , that will be taken in fables and etc . The last generation would have so , so very few watching and even thinking the Time was near . And busying focusing on peace and safety . Exactly like this generation is doing right now . Jesus told us what to watch for . Inquity going through the roof and thus the love of many waxing cold . Definetely here now . And a delusion abounding within the churches that are having all to just come together under this unity stuff . this we are one . A social gospel that serves the beast . Its not hard to see the signs . And that same group , its main leader is quickly gathering even staunch Imams to be as one and bow before the throne of their making . And what is this all about . PEACE AND SAFETY , WORLD as ONE , RELIGION as one to serve this WORLD , its king and kings . Sound familiar . The mystery of inquity has long been at work and its quickly swelling in these last years . And about the time they are saying peace and safety .............what happens again . YEAH , i would for sure say we are running out of time . I leave us with a reminder that this generation has long forgot or no longer says . BE watching , IF YE will not watch then i will come upon you as a thief . Let us be on gaurd my friend and my friends . Let us be about the work of the LORD . Let us all continue in the scriptures . AND watch out for these internet men or any men . TEST them all and see if they sound anything like Christ concering the end times . JESUS never gave the impression HIS COMING wasnt or shouldnt be for a hundred years . NO HE ALWAYS LEFT THE IMPRESSION it could be nigh and at the door . TO be watching , to be ready . Satan cant speed anything up , LEST GOD ALLOWED IT . ITS GOD WHO ALONE IS IN CONTROL and You my friend KNOW this . Satan is speeding around all right , but that is cause HE KNOWS HIS TIME IS SHORT . Just another end time sign . The apostles must have been seeing the signs too. Its this , the final and last generation that in large would NOT be seeing the signs of the times . Thus if any man , any woman , even a speaking donkey says we got fifty years left , DONT HEED IT . ONE THING about GOD , about CHRIST , about the apostels and the HOLY SPIRIT that was in them , IT never once gave the impression there was much time left . SO WHY DO Folks even think and ponder we do in this day and age . When the SIGNS ARE ONLY MUCH MORE CLEAR that we are indeed RUNNING OUT OF TIME . ME THINKS too many people are in love with this life and with this world and thus THEY CANT SEE . The only unction i am getting is , TIME IS RUNNING OUT . Be watching , be alert be prepared to even lose all for the glorious sake of the LORD . This world is not our home . This life is but a vapor . OH but one day all lambs shall be gathered before the glorious King who has saved them . TILL THEN , be on guard and be alert , we got us a nasty delusion all over the churches , all over the internet , all over the world and places .

1Jo 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
Mic 4:1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. (Has Jesus established His kingdom...yes He has.) Act 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams Heb 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds I'm quite convinced that there are things in our theology or doctrine about the last days that need tweeking. The church in these days is getting a lot of this wrong. Because biblically speaking, reading the scriptures without any preconceived bias, it sure seems the last days that the bible is talking about began and ended 2000 years ago (or so) minus 70.

Well brother, how I'm understanding some of these things is that it was also the last days for Israel and the old covenant, before the wrath of the Lamb was visited upon her. The master of the house stood up concerning Israel at that time after giving them time to repent and embrace their true Messiah, but they would not, sadly...they waxed worse and fell away into terrible apostasy and corruption until Jerusalem was judged in 70 AD. Even the prophecy of the last days (see Gen. 49) concerning the tribe of Levi....priesthood...corruption and foretelling that instruments of cruelty were in their house, was fulfilled then....helpful to look into the history and things that were happening in Jerusalem at the end. Daniel's messianic prophecies were unsealed (ie, fulfilled) in the time of the end, at the first coming of Christ and the wrath....why Jesus referenced his writing. There is more to get hold of to parse everything correctly. And now is the messianic age/kingdom if we have faith and eyes to see it, and enter it. Not an earthly fairy tale shangri-la, but a kingdom that comes not with observation but is within us, just as Jesus said.

The Anti-Christ has not come on the scene. The Anti-Christ never stood up in the Temple and proclaimed he was God. The beast system spoken of in the Bible where you needed a mark in your right hand or forehead did not take place at that time, and the technology did not exist for such a thing to take place back then. I have heard people claim that the things mentioned in scripture, even Revelation, all took place already, but that is ludicrous. There are a lot of things that have not taken place yet, including the return of the Lord, the Battle of Armageddon, the Millennial Reign of Christ and the New Heaven and New Earth. There are things Jesus predicted that did take place already, like the destruction of the Temple, but there is a lot to take place in our future.

I do not know how much time we have left, but I do know it is dangerous to tell people that we have over 100 years before Jesus returns. Nobody but the Father knows if that is true. Most of the people making those claims are calling themselves Prophets, and they believe God told them that. It is extra-Biblical revelation, so there is no way to prove it right or wrong. We can however look at the signs of the times, and they all point to this being the last days.
You make a very good point, one I agree with. Many are in love with this life and the world, and they are willingly choosing to live under a delusion. Even if we have more time than we think, we are not taught in scripture to live as if we have many years left, but we are to be watching and waiting on Jesus' return. We are not to be living careless and sinful lives, knowing that the Lord could return at any moment, and we could be as the sinful servants were that were in sin when Jesus came back. Also remember that Jesus said He would come back at a time when we were not looking for Him.

The last days did begin after Jesus returned to Heaven, but they are continuing today. Jesus said that with God, 1 day is as 1000 years and 1000 years as 1 day. 2000 years seems like a lot of time to us, but not do God.

There is a huge difference between judgment and persecution. Suggest looking into the history of what was happening in Jerusalem and the temple at that time.....that is necessary in order to see what was being fulfilled then. If people don't know anything about what actually took place, they have no way of knowing what was being fulfilled in those days or what wasn't. That history matters, it's important to find out since it was prophesied by the prophets as well as by Jesus Himself.

We picked up the terminology and started to apply it to the second coming of Christ and judgment of the world. But the Lord was certainly firstly talking about the last days for Israel and the old covenant, and her judgment. Which "finished" establishing the gospel and new covenant...establishing Christ's kingdom, His rule and reign. Jesus' warnings of tribulation and abomination of desolation etc, were for Israel in those days, but also of course for the new believers of that time because His forewarnings helped them escape the judgment/wrath when it came in 70 AD. Only the believers believed Him.

All I know brother is that the things the apostles wrote in their letters under the unction of the Holy Spirit could not have been wrong: 1Co 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world (aion – age) are come.
What you said makes no sense. How can the "last days" have ended while we are still continuing today? How can we still be here after the last days are past? The last days did begin after Jesus returned to Heaven, but they are continuing today. Jesus said that with God, 1 day is as 1000 years and 1000 years as 1 day. 2000 years seems like a lot of time to us, but not do God.
Also to say....the last days ended with the destruction of Jerusalem and we are in the messianic reign/kingdom now.....which is not of this world but is within us. Jesus rules and Satan is defeated! Except that most believers are not really walking in that revelation yet as victors and conquerors. We are the only limiting factor in this, not what Christ accomplished.....how much or how little of what He accomplished have we apprehended and entered into.

Just be on gaurd dear sister . Cause many are about to fall the grand delusion . When they shall use the phrase my House is a House of prayer for all nations and take it out o text to have all religoins and faiths coming together as one under this new messianic age , JUST REMEMBER its a delusion . Jerusalem truly is about to be the all out center of the blending of all the world and her religoins to be as one for world peace and safety . DONT FALL FOR IT . Brother, there is only one Way to the Father. God is able to keep His own, especially the more we look to Him and rely on Him and not on ourselves. He thankfully enables us to see the fallacy of the ecumenical movement, and the gross error of this pope and the RCC institution. In general it is those who are looking for this world to become a shangri-la who are most susceptible, I would think. But here again, being grounded in scripture that is to the Jew first, helps us to understand what GOD means by "house of prayer for all nations". He is talking about Gentiles who join themselves to the Lord......Gentile BELIEVERS, not the unbelieving or heathen people of the world.
