Before understanding full repentance and being in Christ, I loved sleep. I was depressed and overmedicated. Sleep helped me forget how empty I felt.
Now I sleep only 4 or 5 hours at a time and have to force myself to get anymore. The Holy Spirit is always 'awake' so I'm relearning how to sleep.
Wondering if others have had a similar experience.

I know that people experiencing depression often sleep a lot. If you are finding that you no longer do that, it's probably a good sign you are feeling better and that you are finding purpose in life again.

To feel rested, I usually need about 7 hours of sleep each night, but I rarely get it. On a typical night, I probably get about 5 or 6 hours of sleep, and then catch up some on Saturday. That is just because of necessity. Some people need more sleep than others, but I know Solid is right about depression and sleep. People who are depressed sleep because they just do not want to face the day.
