THE SECRET PLACE
(1) He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
(2) I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Psalms 91:1-2 KJV
Psalm 91 starts with the observation of those that dwell in the secret place and under the shadow of the Almighty God. Then we are shown various types of atrocities which those who do so avoid because of the relationship they have with God. I am reminded about the scripture in Isaiah:
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 23:6
Psalm 91 is a song and declaration of faith! It speaks of an intimacy with God that one experiences when they enter into his presence and understand his person. They find solace in the grand, glorious, and gracious words that are shared in that place. The secrets of the word are revealed in depth; casual fellowship only produces a superficial understanding; but deep intimate fellowship opens the doors of deeper revelation.
The intimacy of the secret place and the covering of the Almighty is a place where many times words are not needed; just the illuminating consciousness of his presence imparts satisfaction of the soul. It is a place of sweet communion where one is allowed the entrance into the mind of God. Love comes forth and the very essence of God permeates the entire being in that secret place.
In the secret place one finds the vital importance of purpose and the glorious design into conforming to his will. In that purpose there is identity; with every thought, every intention, and with entire willingness to comply. “In his presence is fullness of joy” it is a dwelling place; a place of habitation which is a fixed place of residence. The secret place of presence is a dwelling in the word of God; the love of God; the purpose of God; living in harmony with God and never leaving his dwelling place.
In this dwelling one receives a higher education; their minds are fortified with God’s thoughts, guarded with God’s ideas, protected with God’s principles. The secret place is a place of refuge and a mighty fortress. The fortress of truth which is our shield and buckler! O what a mighty God we serve!
Come let us go to the secret place the shadow of the Almighty; come let find love, peace, and joy in that wondrous place. Come let us walk in the Spirit rejoicing evermore living in his presence where life is abundant in the secret place. Hear Ye! Hear Ye! The words of the Lord; he speaks to those who dwell in the secret place.
(14) Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
(15) He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
(16) With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. Psalms 91:14-16 KJV
Brethren; come and go with me to my Father's house where there is joy unspeakable and full of glory. Let us keep the faith and the faith will keep us! Selah
Shalom, Agape, and Amen!
