Does God measure obedience and sacrifice by years? Innocence? Suffering?
Notable sacrifices include our flesh, Jesus, Isaac, and a ram.
I think this is an important topic.
Caine's sacrifice did not have blood in it. Maybe in his heart, it didn't mean anything.
But either way, he got this wrong and opened the door to destruction from Satan.

In the case of Cain, nobody really knows why his sacrifice was not accepted by God. Some speculate it was because he refused to do it God's way, and that the Lord already made it known what kind of sacrifice would be acceptable to him. Some just say it had to be a blood sacrifice involving an animal, but the Bible never actually says.
I just think the Lord sees when we walk in obedience. The Bible says that doing so is our duty, Luke 17:10. A sacrifice can be anything we do that requires us to go above and beyond the norm. It is anything we do for the Lord. He sees it and recognizes it. God is not calling on people to sacrifice animals or anything like that today, because Jesus' one time sacrifice on the cross was sufficient. Giving our time, talents, money, even praise and worship, is how we sacrifice to the Lord today.
