A TRUE MINISTER OF GOD LEADS PEOPLE INTO THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF CHRIST.
(9) Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Matthew 5:9 KJV
I’ve heard it said controversy for the sake of controversy is a sin; but controversy for the sake of Christ is a divine mandate. The great controversy today is not the church being in the world preaching the gospel; but the world has gotten into the church preaching pagan philosophy, political heresy, and its acceptance.
It’s so sad to me a few people I thought were good Christians but now know that they are prejudice and support the abomination of abortion, homosexuality, and other sins; all these things bring strife which is seeded in pride that comes from worldly influence instead accepting the word of God in humility.
I value fellowship with people who believe the bible is the unadulterated word of God and adhere to it teachings. When we address the issues of sin as ministers are we being controversial or are we being practical?
(13) Who is wise and knowing among you? Let him show his works by his good conduct with meekness of wisdom.
(14) But if you have bitter jealousy and strife in your hearts, do not glory and lie against the truth.
(15) This is not the wisdom coming down from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
(16) For where envying and strife are, there is confusion and every evil work.
(17) But the wisdom that is from above is first truly pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
(18) And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. James 3:13-18
When people; whether in laity or leadership are motivated by envy and produce strife; their actions lie against the truth of God’s word. But where there is wisdom; reason will be present. No one is justified in their sins we are told to come out from those in the world and be a separate people. Christ died for the sins of humanity and whosoever will believe upon him. When we allow the social gospel philosophy into our midst and accept its principles we have abandoned the word of God and believe another gospel. Then the philosophies of the world creep in line upon line precept upon precept until the universal gospel is no longer valid in the lives of those receive it. Kingdom principles are spiritual principles for spiritual people to live by to the glory of God without partiality and hypocrisy.
(16) Let not then your good be evil spoken of:
(17) For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
(18) For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
(19) Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. Romans 14:16-19 KJV
The context of Romans chapter fourteen deals with weakening the faith of a brother through eating meat offered to idols at a pagan temple. One person is mature enough to understand that idols are not gods and his conscience is not bothered by eating the meat; yet the immature person would be weakened in his faith if he consumed or seen another brother consume that meat. Let us understand that no sin is acceptable practice in the Kingdom of God. The practice pointed too is righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. These are the things; which edify the spirit of the brethren; and not cause confusion through selfish desire or ambition.
The social gospel brings into the Kingdom of God carnal concepts which lead to division within the body of Christ. It is not the gospel of Jesus Christ based upon the word of God; though its advocates and leaders use the scriptures twisting the context and content to conform it to their own views. I’ve heard many of those who are heavily involved in the affairs of the world quote scriptures out of context to endorse something they believe in the secular realm to promote a secular cause that has nothing to do with the Kingdom of God and his righteousness. The truth of the matter is that once a person buys into the secularized gospel they begin to slowly give in the lewdness that follows it.
Isn’t it a fact that now we have homosexual priest and preachers declaring a gospel that supports their lifestyle? How did it come about? The social gospel that adheres to the social views of the world which takes what is holy, righteous, and good and taints it with the mentality of carnal man. It opens the door to unrighteous conflict and contentions that divide the church and causes the world to look down on the true church of God. When so many; adhere to one strain or mentality in the social gospel; which is a gospel easily acceptable to the world; because it reflects the world with its carnal appetites. The gospel of Christ is about self-sacrifice and selflessness. It’s about preaching about heaven and hell and caring about the sinner but hating the sin. When one adheres to the gospel of Christ and conforms to the principles of heaven; they mature into a good earthly citizen who practices the principles of the Kingdom of God. Hence; social reform have taken place at the moment of their rebirth; for they’re a new creation in Christ Jesus no longer conformed to this world but transformed by the renewing of their minds.
(1) Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
(2) Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 1st Timothy 4:1-2 KJV
Once people depart from the faith by giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils they’re on the fast track to reprobation. For once the enemy has a stronghold in their minds they become hypocritical and can’t even see it because their conscience has been seared and scared for eternity.
(1) But understand this, that in the last days hard times will come—
(2) for people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,
(3) hardhearted, unforgiving, backbiting, without self-control, brutal, hating what is good,
(4) treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
(5) holding to an outward form of godliness but denying its power. Avoid these people! 2 Timothy 3:1-5 TLV
This passage is talking about people who declare they are God’s children who embrace a form of religion but deny the transforming power of God. No doubt some of them stand in pulpits preaching a carnal gospel based upon the passions of the world. Brethren, we are compassed on every side with those who say they are Christian but their gospel is all about themselves and worldly pleasures. They wear a thin veneer of Christ but inside they’re festering with every ungodly thing imaginable.
Brethren and fellow ministers; I plea the cause of Christ; let us forsake a powerless gospel that only fuels the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. Let us adhere to the gospel of salvation, the gospel of healing, and the gospel of deliverance. Let us become the humble and not the haughty and daily pick up our cross and follow Christ.
(16) And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
(17) And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
(18) The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
(19) To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. Luke 4:16-19 KJV
As Christ was anointed He anointed us; it is the acceptable time to preach the true gospel to the people in the world and those in the church who are being led astray by another gospel. Selah
