When I was reading this Psalm, it made me think of the conditions today, and the governments today. They do not want to follow the Lord's ways. They think their ways are superior. They actually are deluded into thinking they will prevail against the Most High God, much as Lucifer thinks he will.
WHY do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision.
5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
The nations are plotting right now. They are scheming about setting up their global government, and they are almost giddy as they look at how close they are to fulfilling their vision, yet the Most High God that they despise so much is laughing at them, because He knows that their end is near.
