He is getting the two wars mixed up. This war is after the 1000 years, when Satan is let out of prison. (1000 yrs after the 2nd Coming)
Ezekiel 38:8 After many days thou shalt be visited(Satan): in the latter years (when the 1000 yrs has expired) thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
In this war, the armies only "surround" the camp of the saints (Jerusalem on earth), they do not enter (Rev 20:9), but above, it says that he ,...(Satan) using a man again to do his bidding, called "Gog" will come "into the land". At Christ's second Coming a 1000 yrs before - he destroyed that "land" called "Babylon". That system is gone forever. The earth during the millennium will be under the law of God with Christ as King. The earth is at rest. No wars have taken place for a thousand years, therefore this "land" that Satan first enters upon his release is - the world, ....the land of Christ's dominion (the nations). Satan will bring that "land" that was brought back from the sword (saved from wars), and lead them to attack holy Jerusalem where Israel is dwelling safely (no bars no gates). Today in Israel there are bars and gates, and full security measures to protect against invaders. During the millennium none of this will be needed because they are shielded by the Lamb, living according to his commandments, so there is a difference.
The "mountains" of Israel are the "kingdoms of Israel". Any nation serving the laws that come out of Holy Jerusalem (Israel), are under Israel now, protected by the Lord, and of that same Kingdom. Satan will enter into this "land", (Christ's dominion throughout the earth) and start trouble again, inciting war into those nations, and gathering them to attack the Holy Camp ....to steal the wealth, and the riches in there, that Christ took back off the nations after his Coming, because Babylon robbed the people.
Ezekiel 38:9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.
Ezekiel 38:10 Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:
Ezekiel 38:11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
Now he is speaking of Israel, the camp of the saints, the kingdom's headquarters. He is going "up". The kingdom's boundaries are higher. All those inside the kingdom are dwelling safely. They will not be touched, unlike outside the kingdom where there is war and killing going on.
Ezekiel 38:12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.
Inside that kingdom, they are very prosperous. Everything is blessed. All the gold and silver is there, and food in abundance.
So when this speaker is saying that Israel is at peace now, and it's the calm before the storm, I agree it's the calm before the storm but Israel is not at rest, because she is always at the threat of war and constantly on guard.
If we go to Jeremiah 25, Israel is going to be punished by the kings of the North. That can happen any day now, because the 70 years is expired, and anyone found in the "land" of "Babylon", is going to receive her plagues. The remnants of Israel are dwelling in Babylon also, so will go through all the plagues, and will suffer loss, but their lives will be spared. They will not be taken into the wilderness to be protected as he was referring to Rev 12, because that chapter is not speaking about Israel being protected, but the woman, Zion which is the Doctrine of God. For 3 1/2 years that doctrine (NT) was "preserved", and preached, and although Satan could persecute the believers, he could not touch that doctrine. She, the woman was being kept in the wilderness, being fed, because her doctrine was being kept alive, preserved for that 3 1/2 yrs. Satan could not touch, but after that, he goes to distort that doctrine corrupting the churches mingling false doctrine in there, and now doing the same also corrupting the bible,...the Word of God.
