This has to be Satan's favorite question, "What if?"
Have you ever noticed that when you are showing where the Bible says something, those who do not like it will often make excuses starting with the question, "What if?" It can be used to defend nearly any sin, or show that the Bible really cannot mean what it says, or nobody would be saved. Let me give you an example..
The Bible says no thieves will inherit the kingdom of God. What if you are starving and you steal bread? What if the money is to pay for a medical procedure you cannot afford? Once you decide that God might understand the stealing of bread, you justify the Rolex watch you stole, because stealing is stealing.
Now that I pointed this out, take notice of how often this strategy is employed. Feel free to give more examples.

The cousin to "What if" is "what about?"

"What if the lie doesn't hurt anyone?" Other people often pressure me to lie this way.

This remembers me of something:
❝Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made.
And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”❞ - Genesis 3:1
But God also said:
❝but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat,
for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die...❞ - Genesis 2:17

i used to be an exceptional thief. the day i told God i wont steal no more unless i got to eat....
thats the day God became my provider and i ate every day since. and two weeks later i aint been homeless no more. i had running water, a toilet, shower, electricity, a roof.
you make up your mind to obey God and watch what He does. watch how He shows up. watch His faithfullness come into your life. dont belive me???... put Him to the test. He Is good for it.
thank God i aint who i used to be. still today people wont have nothing to do with me and i cant blame them one bit... but God, saved a wretch like me. and I aint stole nothing since that day.
