This morning during my devotional time, it was impressed upon my heart by the Holy Spirit that God wants His people to pray---for themselves and for each other, because of the tribulation that is coming, to prepare ourselves for it: Praying for spiritual strength, praying for our brothers and sisters who are sinning against the Lord by not keeping His word as they know they should be to wash their robes in His blood through repentance (1 John 1:9) and to purify themselves of all known unrighteousness---to be like those who are to keep the Passover feast, removing all the leaven from their homes, preparing for exodus, (not busy and settled in Egypt), and watching for the morning of eternal day.
God knows who of His people is hardened beyond the point of hope, but there are many who are not, and who will cleanse themselves through repentance of their apostasy, and we need to pray for them to do so, and also for ourselves to remain pure, and to not be deceived by the abundance of false teachings that are being taught by so many today, by people of prominence, and also by ordinary people on the internet.
So I am enjoining you all to do this---to pray fervently for yourselves and for your brothers and sisters in Christ, as His Spirit leads you.
...The end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. (1 Peter 4:7,8)
(That's watching ourselves---Luke 21:34-36---and being serious and clear-minded in order to pray, and walking in love, because love covers a multitude of sins: You won't sin against your brother if you're walking in love according to the commandments of the New Testament.)
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (Or 'The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.') (James 5:16)
...Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints... (Ephesians 6:18)
(So that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil and may be able to withstand temptation and deception.)
If ever the faithful saints of God needed to be on their knees, it's now.
