And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.
Apostle Paul, Acts 24:16 If you will notice, when Paul speaks of his conscience here, he makes it clear that having a clean conscience takes work. It is not automatic. He states that he actually exercises himself to have a conscience void of offence toward God and toward men. If all a person had to do to have a clean conscience is just believe in Jesus, it would not require exercise. This is something we have to actively work at. We have to practice living a life void of offence.
Actually you almost right on spot with this . But the real question is , IT is about BELIEVING IN JESUS , but a true believer , Exercises , aka OBEYS HIM , its all about fighting the good fight of faith . OF heeding HIM , of heeding sound doctrine . Exercise thyself unto godliness . aka , CONTINUE TO OBEY THE SPIRIT and nOT the flesh .

This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck: Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
Apostle Paul, 1 Timothy 1:18-20

Likewise must the deacons be grave, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

Apostle Paul, 1 Timothy 1:18-20 This brings us to a serious question . HOW does one put away faith . Wanna hear the biblcal answer . cause most will say they have to not beleive in JESUS anymore . Not it . The answer can be found in , HOW DO WE DENY JESUS , HOW DO WE DENY the FAITH . WANNA hear how pauls says we do . and JESUS said it first . HE who wont provide . aka a hearer BUT NOT A DOER , for his own and specically for those of his own houshold has denied WHAT . THE FAITH , THE FAITH , THE FAITH , THE FAITH , TEH FAITH THE FAITH , THE FAITH and is WORSE , EVEN WORSE than an infidel . NOW why would paul say even worse than an infidel . CAUSE PETER SAYS IT BEST . IT HAD BEEN BETTER for them to have NEVER know the way of righteousness THEN AFTER THEY KNOW IT , TO TURN from it . AM I saying that if we holler JESUS IS LORD and pray all day and sing all day and yet we DENY HIS SAYINGS we are doomed . YOU BET I AM . I BODLY REFUSE TO SAY OTHERWISE

Apostle Paul, 1 Timothy 3:8-9 DID I SEE the WORD grave . YES I DID . SO why on earth do folks think this grave man is so evil for being so grave . NOt saying any of us think that . BUT I am saying it .

NOW the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Unto the pure all things are pure; but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience:
Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

THEREFORE seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Apostle Paul, 2 Corinthians 4:1-6 What I am going to say here is not directly about the conscience part, but I could not help but rejoice inside reading it, because it had never stood out to me before. I am speaking of Jesus being the Light of the World. Jesus it say is the image of God, and literally shined. In the last verse that is posted here, it says that God gave the "light" of the knowledge of the glory of God "in the face of Jesus Christ." I had just never noticed that before. We read about Moses and how He shined after being in the presence of God. Here it says that the light of the knowledge of the glory of God is in the face of Jesus Christ. I just thought I would point that out, and how many references to light are in that passage because it blessed me as I was reading it. I may go back at another time and look at how many references there are to light in the Bible, as I am doing here with the word conscience. Also in that passage is the truth that Jesus Christ is the image of God, so when you looked at Jesus Christ, you were looking at God.

FOR the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
Apostle Paul, Romans 10:1-2
