So I'm addressing this on another forum and I wrote about how I believe systemic racism in our modern day is a myth: Thank you for adding your thoughts and research to this discussion and taking it seriously. I am not opposing that there are real evidence-backed racial disparities in America. Neither am I opposing that systemic racism was ever a thing, especially prior to the Civil Rights movement. What I'm opposing is this idea that all of this disparity in wealth is caused by racial injustice from government and societal institutions now. I'm opposing the idea that because there are inequality outcomes in our society, it's being caused by unequal treatment. The fact that single parent households affect the overall crime rate is well researched. This Abstract www.ncjrs.gov/App/Publications/abstract.aspx?ID=167327Census Bureau Historical Poverty Tables (Look at Table 10) www.census.gov/data/tables/time-series/demo/income-poverty/historical-poverty-people.htmlThis Article by the Atlantic www.theatlantic.com/sexes/archive/2012/12/the-real-complex-connection-between-single-parent-families-and-crime/265860/I believe specific policies by the Democratic Party have had a big impact on the breakdown of the family of African-Americans. This includes Welfare. Historically, the Democratic Party was the party of the Klu Klux Klan and radical white supremacists. Democratic president Lyndon B. Johnson said, "I'll have those n*******s voting Democrat for the next 200 years." The Democratic Party relies heavily on poor black voters and has set up a system of policies to help them remain poor and reliant on the government, thus ensuring them of continuous votes. Even better for them, they can continually blame wealth and educational racial disparities on discrimination by white elites. Not to say that Republicans are perfect by any means but it's clear to me that Democrats keep playing this card that they are the party of the poor and oppressed and this necessitates a narrative of racial oppression. I believe they still do a number on the black community to this day but have only changed tactics by putting us in failure subsidizing programs like Welfare and forcing us in failing schools by taking away parent choice and vouchers for their children to go to better charter schools. You have to keep repeating this narrative of overt racial oppression. That's how you get blacks to vote for you. It's about votes. Not what is actually good for African Americans. Check out this video on why the present idea that there is systemic racism is a myth. Lastly, I think we can only solve the problems in black communities by addressing two things: Fatherlessness Culture In Thomas Sowell's book, Basic Economics, I read about the performance of black children in Germany's public schools. The surprise? There was no performance disparity among racial lines. Why? There is no ghetto black culture in Germany.

The issue of systemic racial inequality I think might be a separate issue from the issue of why there are so many single parent families. But on both subjects sister, really I would have to say I am somewhere in the middle. On the one hand there is individual accountability, for sure, and the battle ground is in the mind and heart for us all, no matter who we are, but on the other hand I don't think we can discount that there are mitigating circumstances, and the extent of that varies from person to person as well as from area to area. For example there is more racism in some areas than others (eg, the deep south is notorious), more in some police departments and court systems than others, more in some companies than others, more in some neighbourhoods than others, etc. As you mentioned, some family lines would have experienced worse or better than others as well, during slavery, so it also depends on the cards one is dealt and what one is dealing with. Oppression is a real thing that the bible talks about, it's not as though it's a fictitious concept (though we know that some groups like BLM exploit, exaggerate, and stir up trouble with it for their own ends). Different people have different problems that they need to overcome, due to different circumstances of life, that is just a fact.
Just a couple of thoughts about the situation with Germany, I agree that the lack of ghetto culture is a factor with those happy results, but also remember that there was not a culture of black slavery in Germany like there was in America.....I suspect most of those black students were not descended from those who had been enslaved....and that is still quite recent history in America, and the wounds are still raw for many. Also in Germany they are still dealing with the shame of Nazism and crimes of WWII so they go out of their way not to be racist.
God knows there are disadvantages to being a stranger in a strange land to begin with, and that is why He said to be kind and hospitable to the stranger in your land. In a competitive and greedy fallen world the more powerful tend to prey on, exploit and oppress the less powerful, that is unfortunately a fact of life in a fallen world, sadly. I dont' believe these things can be taken out of the equation entirely. I consider that both sides of this argument have some valid points.

Actually systemic racism does exist... but NOT in the way its being presented. its actually the democrats who are discriminating, then they twist things on the news to make republicans look like the racists. you have got to know your history to know the truth. Democrats have been tricking black people for as long as black people were allowed to vote.
all the things that cripple the black family are democrat policies. welfare, section 8... then black men who grew up with out a father figure and only knows the feminine part of upbringing make wrong choices... because they were never raised the way God intended make poor choices to make money... do you know about "the crime bill" what most black people refer to it as? do you? under bill clinton that bill was passed... and joe biden was apart of passing that... so then black folks are locked up due to the mess democrats made. Trump however made a it so if your not violent offender you can get out. Under trump black unemployment was the lowest its been in decades and decades... and on and on.
bottom line here people(black, white, brown, purple, blue, etc.) the democrats or progressives have been on a mission to change this country, and not one thing they have done has benefited the american people. not one. did you know Abraham lincon was a republican? there is another deception. the democrats lie lie lie. you want truth... do your homework. biden in 47 years of politics has done things and said things that were indeed against minorities. and i say this to all black people who know the truth... its up to you to get the word out because most black people are not going to listen to me, a white man... because they believe that, they were raised in that whole poor old me, whitey is against me... but how is that when i am telling you the truth?

There will always be some who are racist, but the bigger question is, how wide spread is it today in America? I would say racism is not wide spread at all, but Democrats want us to believe that it is. Liberals want us to believe racism is everywhere, and they are championing the cause of minorities, when all they care about is power and money. They are frauds.

Systemic racism did once exist . some racism still does . But not in the system it dont . LOOK at the laws . According to the system of laws , It no longer exists . The ONLY , and i will say this more than once , reason the dems push systemic racism , IS because They want the entire SYSTEM changed . SO they will root out and find any kind of racism in any area . THEN call it systemic . WHEN IT TRUTH its just we got bad apples in all groups . SO instead of rooting out the bad apples , THEY are trying to UPROOT the system . BUT IT is not because they care for blacks or anyone else . ITS because they want a communist elite system . And folks thought ol frienduff was a dummy . I KNOW exactly what they are up too . The truth is , you will find racists in every line of work . Because evil people exist . BUT THE SYSTEM ITSELF has long been non racial . IF anything the laws give the advantage to minorities . THEY have for years . IN hiring , in education , etc . BUT the dems desire not the good of any person , but the change of the system . ITS what this has always been about .

Well it does actually exist in the democratic party . And if we think this is not the case , i challenge us to watch what is going on with Ice cube . NO , he is not a good christain example . But he went to both parties . He is not maga and he is not biden . But he reached out to both parties . Would anyone care to hear what the democratic party told him . WELL lets wait till AFTER the election . The republicans actually sat down with him . NOW , no matter if this was a political move or not . IT DOES SHOW US something about the dems . IF they really cared about the blacks , HOW COME they said , LETS Wait till AFTER the election . IF biden wins , ICE cube gonna find out a hard truth . THEY aint gonna listen to that man . THEY are not in it for the blacks . Whether or not the other side is , or if it just political , i guess time will tell . BUT WHEN THE DEMS said what they did to ICE CUBE , MAN that outta tell every black man , woman and child , THAT PARTY AINT FOR YOU . IT JUST USES YOU . They didnt even try to sit down with the man . JUST said lets wait till AFTER the election . THAT would tell me sometthing huge if i was black . Like sit down , we gonna keep on doing for you what he have been . USING YOU to win sympathy for white votes and to change the system into WHAT WE WANT . Go on sister tabitha , TAKE A LOOK SEE at what is really going on with the liberals . YOU might wanna show this one to mom and pops . And fast too .

Everyone is looking at this from a political standpoint, and i'm just talking about attitudes.....not that I blame you all at a time like this and with an important election looming....God's will be done, and I pray that He will be merciful as well as watch over His word to perform His plans and purposes.
I'm not sure there is any difference between 'blaming' slavery or 'blaming' other mitigating factors though, such as Democratic policies. We can't really get away from the fact that circumstances affect people and their families down the line. Just saying. In another instance the Jews are still living with the affects of the holocaust in many families.

Yes, we know as believers that Jesus is the answer and that the way out ultimately is not through blaming others for our responses to difficult circumstances. We each must be accountable before the Lord for our own responses to things that occur in our life. But that is a separate issue from being an onlooker extending some grace to folks because of understanding the battle that has been or is arrayed against them. We seem to be confusing two different things here brother....one is our response and attitude to someone else's suffering, and the other issue is the matter of what the solution is for them.

One last little point I want to get in if I may, to clarify something, is that having some understanding and compassion for the plight that others are in, doesn't equate to condoning and excusing their sin, if they sin. Jesus forgave even His persecutors from the cross and asked His Father to as well, but that doesn't mean He was condoning what they were doing, it just meant He wasn't condemning them for it. Even though it was God's plan that their rejection meant salvation for the Gentile nations, sadly Jerusalem was still sacked and destroyed 70 years later and Israel ceased from being a nation....but maybe we can see the results of His compassion in the fact that He gave Israel a further 70 years to repent. (And though they didn't repent as a nation, there was a harvest of souls from her in that time who fled to the mountains and were spared the destruction.)
"Father forgive them for they know not what they are doing." So maybe we can pray concerning the unbelieving black community, something like Father forgive them for they are a people who were badly beaten down and demoralized and had their family units destroyed. Whether we like it or not, or believe it or not, the devastating effects of traumatic histories like that can and do get passed on to the descendants for a long while down the line until the gospel comes in to break the cycle and begins to heal the wounds. Who am I to condemn them? There is nothing more healing, compassionate and comforting than the gospel...Jesus is all those things personified...without condoning sin, but at the same time forgiving it.
