Hi, brothers and sisters! I'm Syndarin, and I'm having an empty and chaotic summer internally because I'm a new Christian, and there are three things I am currently experiencing:
1) Loneliness, because in the area where I live, which is in San Mateo/Foster City in CA, there are not a lot of real, Holy Spirit hungry Christians: most people are lukewarm Christians or unbelievers, and I have a hard time sensing or detecting the Holy Spirit,
2) An empty, meaningless feeling, because I cannot sense the Holy Spirit, 3) Occasional attacks of madness and discord, mentally, because I am fighting against my flesh, which used to really control me through idolatry of sensualism and role playing games and sites and worldliness and anime (they drive me nuts now, I'm very sensitive to spirits, whether that be the Holy Spirit or the Enemy), and I am really struggling to walk in the spirit.
I need help and deliverance from my old life, any tips?

Hello there.
You say you're a new Christian. How did this happen, and what did you experience at salvation?
Also, do you still believe in Elvin languages from Tolkien?

Hi, brothers and sisters! I'm Syndarin, and I'm having an empty and chaotic summer internally because I'm a new Christian, and there are three things I am currently experiencing: 1) Loneliness, because in the area where I live, which is in San Mateo/Foster City in CA, there are not a lot of real, Holy Spirit hungry Christians: most people are lukewarm Christians or unbelievers, and I have a hard time sensing or detecting the Holy Spirit, 2) An empty, meaningless feeling, because I cannot sense the Holy Spirit, 3) Occasional attacks of madness and discord, mentally, because I am fighting against my flesh, which used to really control me through idolatry of sensualism and role playing games and sites and worldliness and anime (they drive me nuts now, I'm very sensitive to spirits, whether that be the Holy Spirit or the Enemy), and I am really struggling to walk in the spirit. I need help and deliverance from my old life, any tips? Greetings in Christ Jesus, Syndarin, and welcome to the fellowship. I hope you find sincere believers here who love Jesus Christ in truth and who can encourage you in your new-found faith and help you to grow up into Christ.
Loneliness is a difficult thing, and all Christians who desire to be obedient to the Lord and close to Him are going to experience loneliness, even in the midst of company. The more like the Lord we are in mind and the more preoccupied we are with His concerns, rather than our own or those of the unregenerate world, the more lonely we are going to be---not only separated from the company of unbelievers, but also from the company of Christians who are not of like mind in this way. It's normal to be lonely as a Christian (especially at this time, in the midst of the last days' apostasy of the churches and of Christians in general---the departure from obedience to the teachings of Christianity as laid out in the New Testament, both in teaching and in practice), and loneliness is not a bad thing if it's for the right reasons---because you are devoted to Jesus Christ and want to do what is pleasing to Him and because you have His mind.
I recommend reading the Bible (the New Testament in particular, and also the Psalms and Proverbs) and getting to know your God---how He is, how He works, and what He desires and commands you to do. Get familiar with the written word of God, and commit yourself to living by that, and the God of that same word will manifest Himself to you in your life. (John 14:21-23) As you live according to His word, you will experience more of what you read about, personally, and those things will become real for you in experience. (But you have to be a doer of the word and not just a hearer.) Study the New Testament and ask the Lord to help you to understand what you read and how to apply it to your life.
Be sure to pray, and ask God for whatever you need to know Him better and to live pleasing to Him, so that you don't make the mistake of trying to keep the commands of the New Testament in your own power, like following a checklist by willpower, as the Jews kept the law of Moses. The law of Christ doesn't work that way; and if that's the way you try to keep it, you'll burn out fast, or become self-righteously religious, which is not what God wants. Just be mindful of what you read, and ask Jesus to help you to live by the teachings and commandments of His word. He'll remind you of them and guide you by His Spirit in how to do this. Remember that it is in God's power that we keep His word, not our own; we depend on Jesus for everything, and anything that Christians are commanded requires God's grace to do in truth, and the faith to know how to apply what is written to our life correctly. (John 15:5) So never cease to ask Him for this.
Separate yourself from bad company (which corrupts good morals (1 Corinthians 15:33; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18)), and seek out and try to surround yourself with Christians who are living according to the teachings of the New Testament (if you can find them) and who exemplify its teachings and the character of Jesus Christ, and who will encourage you in your faith, to live according to the same. (Philippians 3:17-19)
Avoid Christians who tell you to set aside the commands of the New Testament and to live 'free' in Christ. They don't know what they're talking about. Our freedom in Christ is freedom from sin by the grace of God in submission to Christ, not freedom from rules or freedom to sin without consequence as some foolishly believe. We do have rules, and God expects us to live by them. They're not just helpful hints; they are the food of our spirits by which Christians are sustained and strengthened by God in Christ, as well as our protection from harm. The commandments of the New Testament are the law of Christ by which God expects Christians to live. Christians who choose not to do this are not free from that law, they are just disobedient to it, and they will be held accountable by God for their disobedience.
Hopefully you can benefit from the fellowship here. But the most important relationship to cultivate is your personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which is done by studying His word and applying the teachings of the New Testament to your life faithfully, with His help, and by prayer. (Of course, we must truly be in Christ first; none of this advice will benefit you unless that is the case with you, and that is something God has to assure you of by His Spirit; no person can. If you do not have that assurance, that is the first thing to address. (Romans 8:7-9; 1 John 5:10)) Get to know Jesus well, and associate with Christians who reflect what you read in the New Testament in their conduct and attitudes.
I don't recommend joining a church, but rather studying the New Testament for yourself to become well acquainted with its teachings, and living by those, because the churches are not teaching or doing this, and you won't get pure spiritual milk from any of them like you will from the source. Get the pure and correct doctrine of Christianity directly from the New Testament, and disregard what does not agree with that. That is what Christians are supposed to be living by, and not any variation of it taught by people.
As for temptations, my advice is to get rid of as many of the things that tempt you as possible. If you know that something is a weakness for you or a potential cause for stumbling, jettison it from your life. (Matthew 18:8,9; Ephesians 4:27; Hebrews 12:1) Avoid bad company. Don't bring things into your house that will tempt you or go places where you know you will be tempted. And ask Jesus to help you to overcome temptation and to give you the desires of His Spirit over the desires of your sinful nature, as often as you may be tempted by them. (1 Corinthians 10:13; Hebrews 4:15,16; James 4:6,7)
I hope this advice helps you. May the Lord bless you with the increasing knowledge of Himself and the experience of His power and of His working in your life, and supply you with all the grace and faith that you need to live pleasing to Him.

I need help and deliverance from my old life, any tips? The Lord is with you and He loves you... And much more than you can imagine...
The battles you're having is very common and: The Lord already won this battle for you, you just have to trust in Him, and keep praying whenever you feel to.
I would say: Pray, ask whatever you feel you need, the Lord is always with you... And read the Bible, especially starting from the New Testament, trust in Him at all times.
"to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God." - Ephesians 3:19
May the Lord bless you abundantly, in Jesus' name! Welcome!
"Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." - Luke 15:10

Okay, guys, because I am losing sanity due to how shifty life is, and I really need God to anchor my soul. I remember speaking to you in chat the other day, and one thing I suggested is reading the Bible every day, at least 3 chapters a day. I said 3 chapters so it wouldn't be a huge burden on you, and you wouldn't get discouraged, but I will tell you something that helps me during a dry spell, where I am not feeling God. I open the Bible and read until I do feel God's presence, no matter how long that takes. It isn't that important that you take everything in. Your mind will likely wander as you read till you have a breakthrough, but when that breakthrough comes, you will suddenly be focused and you will feel the presence of the Lord. At least, that works for me. Giving praise to God is a good thing, and so is singing hymns. Talking to God as a friend is a good practice to have every day, but try reading the Bible first. After you feel a breakthrough, then give God the praise.
I am sorry you are going through such a struggle. We are living in perilous times. There are temptations everywhere, and Satan is working overtime to trip up God's children. Don't give up, and anytime you need to talk, drop by here. There is usually someone available, and if not, do what you did here and ask questions in a post. God bless you.

Any advice for combating the Spirit of Madness, guys? Because it occasionally affects my senses as well, and it's irritating.
I am in such an aggressive battle with these spirits that are in my body that were received before I got the Holy Spirit, and I am darn lonely.
I feel so unstable because my family emotionally abandoned me and I have a hard time trusting people, or life...I need help trusting God..and I think I need deliverance.

Yeah..it's hard being a Christian with a mentally ill and dysfunctional family who is also emotionally immature..hard to find people to talk to. Have you read in the bible where it says... as in the days of Noah? its talking about the last days. the time we are currently in. Noah and his family and two of each animal went into the ark. everyone else was pretty much wicked. they were consumed in the flood. Noah must have known something about how you feel. its hard to find someone thats genuine anyway. when i was little my grandmother used to tell me you can count your friends on one hand. She used to say you probably wont be able to hold up all five fingers either. Jesus is called The Man Of Sorrows in the bible. it is what it is. every day read some in your bible. everyday pray. set time aside to do it and try to pray all day. set aside time to sign songs and hymns and psalms to God. Be thankful for what you have. dont look at what you dont have. count your blessings one by one. do that for two weeks and see if you are not in a better place.
If you dont know songs to sing, get some of the internet, ask God in prayer. Before you read ask God to give you what you need. And apply what you read to your life. ask also for understanding.
But keep it in the back of your mind the promises of God. One day, He will come back for us. He will wipe away all our tears, and we will weep no more. our sorrow will be turned into joy. and we will have fields of friends, as far as the eye can see. If we could experience the peace and joy that is to come now, we would be overwhelmed. So just spend time with God now. if you are sad, tell that to God too. He wants to be involved in every aspect of your life. Pray God would send you a christian that would be good for you to fellowship with. You can ask God anything. When i got saved i was in jail. I asked God to teach me to play chess. I played Him in my dreams. the board and pieces were made of light and we moved pieces faster than i can process thought. I lost every game except the last one. and I won by accident. The king hovered above the board and was dissolved inside out by light. that was the last dream of chess lessons. now no one will play me because i will win. You can ask God anything.
God loves you syndarin.

(just a comment) Hi syndarin The holy spirit is the spirit of truth. Read the scriptures and fill yourself up with this spirit. John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

You need to take authority over those spirits when they come to you. Openly command those spirits to leave you in the name of Jesus Christ. Speak forth that you belong to Jesus now and they have no right to be there. Plead the blood of Jesus. Directly call out to Jesus Christ for help.
There are some churches that have deliverance ministries where they will lay hands on those who are dealing with unclean spirits and command them to leave. If you have such a place near you, that would be ideal, but given what you said about the condition of the church where you are, I doubt that is the case. As such, you will need to fight this battle in the manner I said. I will agree with you in prayer as well, but you are going to have to fight it, not in your own strength, but in the power of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are no match in ourselves for demonic spirits, but they are no match for Jesus Christ. It is in his name you will get the victory. You will have to command those spirits to leave each time they return in the name of Jesus Christ and plead the blood of Jesus. If I was physically with you, rather than on the other side of the country, that is what I would be doing. Laying hands on you while commanding the unclean spirits to leave in the name of Jesus Christ. You can do that yourself.
By the way, you called this spirit a spirt of madness. How does it come against you? What does it lead you to do?
Dear heavenly Father. I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ. I am asking you right now to help my sister in California. She is a new Christian who is going through a difficult time. She belongs to you now, but the enemy doesn't give up easily. He doesn't want to let her go. I am asking you right now to go to her where she is and deliver her from all oppressing spirits. She said there is a spirit of madness coming against her. In the name of Jesus Christ, I command that evil spirit to leave her alone! I plead the blood of Jesus Christ over her. I ask you Jesus to send warrior angels to her side to drive away the evil spirits, and I ask that you place a hedge of protection around her that they may never return to bother her again. I pray that you would baptize her in the Holy Ghost, and fill her so full that there is no room for demonic spirits to enter in, nor would they want to be anywhere around her. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. It is not in the power of my words or in my power at all that I am believing for this, but in the name of Jesus Christ, whose name is above all names, including all unclean spirits that I am believing this to be done. A-men.
Thank you Jesus. Praise you Lord. Thank you for delivering our sister completely. Thank you for answering this prayer. You are worthy to be praised. You are greatly to be praised Lord Jesus, and I give you all the glory for helping my sister in California. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Thank you Lord.
I am believing with you sister, but if this spirit or any unclean spirit comes against you again, you must command it to leave. It has to leave through the authority of Jesus Christ.

2 timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. the word in the greek for sound mind is: G4995 σωφρονισμός sōphronismos so-fron-is-mos' its a combination of sos... safe, and phren... the mind, hence, safe thinking. The word denotes good judgment, disciplined thought patterns, and the ability to make right decisions. God is not the author of confusion. keep in mind its an attack, and this spirit is a lying spirit. anything it says will be false. The bible says God inhabits the praises of His people. The enemy will come at you hard when you are a new christian ... because you are not under the curse anymore, and they will try anything to get you away from God. tell that devil to be silent and speak the name Jesus Christ, tell it to leave in Jesus name... and just start praising God. The bible says resist the devil and he will flee. tell that devil you cannot stay here, the Lord rebuke you, leave now. darkness cannot dwell where there is light. spiritual warfare can be intense. to the point where you are physically exhausted when its over. and if they try to scare you with saying lets get inside you, just ask them... you want to get inside a body with The Son of God? the main thing is to fight. dont stop speaking rebukes and praises until they are gone.
edit: I also like to quote revelation 20:10. that really burns them up/runs them hot. pun intended.
