The sword will come no matter what, but nevertheless it is still right to intercede for people, we are called to be soul winners.

Now let us get back to our scripture:
2Ch 7:14-15 (14) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (15) Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
Now we know that the people of this world as a whole (in these dark days), will not repent, but that does not mean that none will repent, and that some type of revival is not possible.
But what is the focus of this scripture?
The focus is on God's people.
Now there may have been truth that points to Israel here, via the Old testament, especially the ones that were following him, or had followed him, but also in a big way, I believe it refers to God's church.
And it points to people who ought to be serving God, to ones that are true Christians, and there are many in these days, who were true Christians but have departed from the faith, the people who ought to be God's people, ought to repent if they have back slidden, or repent of being slack in some form and so on.
We need to continue on with the Lord, and not let any of our faith walk slip.
But also notice, what it says: "if" my people, in a plural form.
It does not say "if" one of my people, but if "my" people.
I will later give examples of what I mean, via the bible.

Biblegateway (many translations available) MSG "God appeared to Solomon that very night and said, “I accept your prayer; yes, I have chosen this place as a temple for sacrifice, a house of worship.
If I ever shut off the supply of rain from the skies or order the locusts to eat the crops or send a plague on my people,
and my people, my God-defined people, respond by humbling themselves, praying,
seeking my presence, and turning their backs on their wicked lives,
I’ll be there ready for you: I’ll listen from heaven, forgive their sins, and restore their land to health.
From now on I’m alert day and night to the prayers offered at this place.
Believe me, I’ve chosen and sanctified this Temple that you have built: My Name is stamped on it forever; my eyes are on it and my heart in it always.
As for you, if you live in my presence as your father David lived, pure in heart and action, living the life I’ve set out for you, attentively obedient to my guidance and judgments,
then I’ll back your kingly rule over Israel—make it a sure thing on a sure foundation. The same covenant guarantee I gave to David your father I’m giving to you, namely, ‘You can count on always having a descendant on Israel’s throne.’ "

2Ch 7:11-16 (11) Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD, and the king's house: and all that came into Solomon's heart to make in the house of the LORD, and in his own house, he prosperously effected. (12) And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice. (13) If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; (14) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (15) Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. (16) For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
I am glad after a certain manner that more of the verses were mentioned, but I like the King James version of it, which is what I mentioned.
Now yes in that day, God's people were the Israelites, but one had to still put their faith in God, and some had and continued with God, and there are others also who put their faith in God, and were truly his people in heart, and as an outward Jew sort of speak, but had backslid from his ways, God was calling all his true people, or even the ones who were true at one time, to repent, or live a life that walks in the way of repentance, which forsakes evil ways.
At that time Solomon had built a physical temple, now we are the temple of the Holy Ghost.
And I believe that this Chronicles' scripture, applies to the church as well.
And most people who are said to be in the church, are actually, truthfully, not the true church.
But thank God to the ones who are true believers and are still in him.
God even gave messages to many of the 7 churches to repent, which all 7 of them were either still part of his church, or had turned away from his ways and needed repentance, and all 7 were founded in some manner, through the persons of Paul, John, and possibly others.
God even says this of one of the 7 churches:
Rev 3:14-19 (14) And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; (15) I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. (16) So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. (17) Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: (18) I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. (19) As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Now no doubt, most of these people were no longer serving God, for they were lukewarm, yet God said to them as many as I love, I rebuke and chasten, and he told them to repent!!!!!!!
I know in the word God says he chastens his sons.
And I believe that these Laodiceans were following God at one time, but had backslid to the point that God would spew them out of his mouth, therefore if they would not heed repentance, they would go to hell, and God here is trying to get these people, who once served him, back to himself.
And this is not the main things I had in mind to share, but I will share my other thoughts, later.

Most of the preachers today, such as Copeland and Osteen; I do not know how many of them, ever, truly served God at any time, now God knows, but we probably would be surprised, how many of them were truly false from the start, and were never his people.

Thats true my friend . We only know they serve Him no more . I am sure some never knew Him . AM very sure , however , They DONT KNOW HIM RIGHT NOW at all . There are parables of the seeds . And the lusts and cares of riches and other things , WILL choke the word right out of a soul . JESUS said it , WE Beleive AND i have seen it . Some even can start out , but get trapped and they just go down the wrong road .

We keep praying for everyone as long as they remain on the planet. Every single soul, whilst still on the planet, still has time to repent and be saved by the biblical Jesus, if they have not yet done so.
But, that open door of grace from Jesus will slam shut and be sealed closed as soon as someone’s soul leaves their body and the planet. If they haven’t repented and asked Jesus to save them, then boom. It’s too late. All hope is lost for that person. They will immediately be sent to Hades, where they remain until judgement day, when they will then be thrown into the lake of fire forever.
However, those that are saved will immediately go to be in the Lord’s presence, and they will remain with Jesus forever. We will march on in Jesus and keep reading that bible. We are marching heavenwards towards our Home with Jesus. We will be there before we know it. We will have a shock at how quick we will actually be there, in the presence of Jesus. Oh praise the Lord.

And this is not the main things I had in mind to share, but I will share my other thoughts, later. Brother i want you to know have been enjoying your information shared in this thread...
there are some things tho that while we are discussing this that need to be covered as well as far as "people" plural, goes. i want to start with what you said as far as todays temple is our body... and we are to take the same care and planning of preparing God's house as David and Solomon took. Lets start in the first of the chapter...
2Ch 7:1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house. 2Ch 7:2 And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD'S house. 2Ch 7:3 And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.
fire came down it says. thats The Holy Ghost upon us. and its when the temple is prepared and prayer sent up... in His honor and for His glory. A bride thats prepared even.
now the next part that in many sermons on this passage... in many christian circles the part thats left off when speaking on this topic/passage:
2Ch 7:13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people
we have had all this... and had it come upon the earth in the exact order found in scripture. places have not received water/rain and wildfires rage. next locusts... not long ago Israel was using planes to disperse pesticides for locusts. plagues of locusts devoured many countries crops from Israel even well into africa and some countries were so heavily effected they depended on "the international community" for food shipped in. the socialist news sources did not give much ink to this at all. if any at all. and then we have had pestilences. plural.
next up....
2Ch 7:19 But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them; 2Ch 7:20 Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations. 2Ch 7:21 And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and unto this house? 2Ch 7:22 And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.
verse 20 speaks of this house... our body is now His house... and He says He will cast it off. Does The Almighty speak falsehoods? not honor His Word? the spiritual implication is life or death, blessing or curses. And we too have been brought out of egypt... spiritually. It even says in verse 20 He will make that defiled house a proverb and a by-word among all nations.
now we spoke in another thread how God does not hold others responsible for others sins... however here we see a corporate, we are all in the same boat type of thing. and if we are honest about scripture and history... those who were faithful.... they went into captivity with the disobedient too. there was an instance i can think of where a remnant was left behind as vine dressers and husbandman... workers of the field.... and Jesus said to pray for laborers. I think its wise of us not just to be repenting and even pushing for a corporate type repentance among Gods people... but for laborers of the field.... because according to the OT prophets were used to bring the message the people needed.... i do not see or hear of this type repentance often:
Hos 6:1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. Hos 6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. Hos 6:3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth. Hos 6:4 O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away. Hos 6:5 Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments are as the light that goeth forth. Hos 6:6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. Hos 6:7 But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me. Hos 6:8 Gilead is a city of them that work iniquity, and is polluted with blood. Hos 6:9 And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness. Hos 6:10 I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel: there is the whoredom of Ephraim, Israel is defiled. Hos 6:11 Also, O Judah, he hath set an harvest for thee, when I returned the captivity of my people.
when God's people do not heed the call to repent God gives them over... not only to some a depraved mind... but to unrighteous leaders because they wanted to serve that kingdom thru their works... and God gives them what the want or at least what they pursue. they then learn to obey Him and that in reality His yoke is easy and His burden is light. in order to get there we need the remnant to deliver the message to repent. it may take longer than we would like to have to deal with. but who are we to refuse God's will... to turn our back on being the messenger to those who God loves, and bled and died for. if your ears can hear what i am saying... it is fallen to us... and just like the prophets on The OT... they wont like us. they will mock us. they will deny our words. until they have had enough and until the come to themselves... such as the prodigal son did. As of now, the only ones heeding the call to repent are the ones repenting. many have not begun to listen as of yet. and nothing has happened yet sever enough to get their attention for them to wake up. and they do what they do with no shame, no remorse, and they even call it right.
How long, Oh LORD, until the latter rain? until your promises we wait for come to pass? what preparations of your house do we lack? to be used in service to your kingdom? nothing else matters like this. nothing compares, not even our own lives. reveal it to us so your house can be built, living stone upon living stone. For your Glory and name sake... for your mercies... O God it is you we hope in, and not in ourself or our ability... Help us, in and thru us. Here i am, use me. put your words in our mouth, set our feet on the path. prepare their heart and open their ears. pour out a Spirit of repentance. make your church shine bright in the earth for the world to see and desire to be apart of. be glorified in us.

Here i am, use me. put your words in our mouth, set our feet on the path. prepare their heart and open their ears. pour out a Spirit of repentance. make your church shine bright in the earth for the world to see and desire to be apart of. be glorified in us.
Thanks for sharing that, that was a real blessing. A lot to ponder on.
