Hos 6:1-3 (1) Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. (2) After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. (3) Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
We are living in very interesting times, we see the signs all around us, the Lord Jesus is coming soon.
And I find these verses, very interesting indeed, and when God says something he means it.
When he says two days, he means it, in the way that he is referring to it here, and when he mentions being raised up the the third day, he means it as well.
Sometimes days are literal days, and other times they have a meaning behind them, and here is what it says in Peter:
2Pe 3:8 (8) But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
So 1000 years is as one day.
And so to get a bit of context to what Hosea is talking about, let us go to an Hosea verse:
Hos 5:5 (5) And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity; Judah also shall fall with them.
So Hosea was mentioning things concerning Israel and Judah.
And now we get to our main scriptures:
Hos 6:1-3 (1) Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. (2) After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. (3) Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
So when will Israel as a nation be revived, and be raised up?

We got to always remember that God does not write things down for nothing, he wants us to dig in his word.
Hosea wrote these scriptures for a reason.
So let us dig in, and dig deeper at what it is saying.

I know that some attribute the 2 days and third day as referring to Jesus being in the tomb and rising from the dead on the third day, but that does not make any sense within what it is actually saying, and who it is talking about.
It is talking about Israel returning or coming back to the Lord.
Now after 2 days in the tomb (which he was actually 3 days therein) the Jews as a nation, were not revived, and when the resurrection took place, Israel was not raised up, nor did they live in his sight.
So obviously it is not talking about that, so then what is it talking about???

Hos 6:1-3 (1)Â Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. Giller my Brother... you did it again... you made another thread i instantly cherish. maybe it is just because Hosea is one of my favorite books due to God taking me there two decades ago. lets dig in, shall we.
Hosea. what obedience this man displayed. He obeyed God is going to take a wife of whoredoms which is not opposed to God's own relationship to Israel... who went a whoring. then when she basically left Him to go back to her whorish ways, fell into a snare by her ways and was going to be sold... Hosea went to buy her back. Hosea loved this woman as God loves us with our ever wondering heart. Hosea was a Christ type to the nation. a living example for all to see. ok ok, enough intro to the book.
there are a couple places of interest in the book of Hosea we need to consider here...
lets first look in chapter two...
Hos 2:14 Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her. Hos 2:15 And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt. Hos 2:16 And it shall be at that day, saith the LORD, that thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali. Hos 2:17 For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name. Hos 2:18 And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely. Hos 2:19 And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. Hos 2:20 I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD. Hos 2:21 And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the LORD, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth; Hos 2:22 And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel. Hos 2:23 And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.Â
and also lets review chapter 14:
Hos 14:1 O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity. Hos 14:2 Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips. Hos 14:3 Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy. Hos 14:4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him. Hos 14:5 I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon. Hos 14:6 His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon. Hos 14:7 They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon. Hos 14:8 Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found. Hos 14:9 Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.Â
so we can clearly see God has a plan, and a promise to restore. we know the thing which He declared... He will bring it to pass. and in light of the possibility after two days being 2k years, as the OP points out, lets also factor in that the book of Hosea is believed to be written around 750BC. Let us also look to our HIStory in this:
Hos 1:1Â The word of the LORD that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.Â
Hosea names the kings of the southern kingdoms, and the king of the northern kingdom, Jeroboam II. this puts the dates between 755BC and 715BC. That puts us studying in 2 Chronicles for sure. Because scholars have said the birth of Jesus is off from 4-15 years to play it safe lets go with the 15 year estimate.... so on the low end that would give us 700BC + 2k years.... which would place us around 1300AD. now that number dont seem to line up, but as Giller pointed out there is that thrid day of being raised up... so we got to add in another 1000 years for the one day of being raised up/restored. which puts us at around 2300AD. either way on high or low end it seems to me the dates are a tad off. I do not claim to be a biblical scholar, i dont even claim to be good at math... so any errors you see in any of what i have said please do speak up. i will say tho, i am not just shooting this idea in the OP down in flames. but 300 years off seems a whole lot off to far off to me, especially when Jesus said Day or Hour concerning His return, that there is an appointed time. I also want to point out tho... we dont know the future. but after pondering this thread man o man... i sure hope Jesus dont tarry another 300 years, which seems unlikely in the face of Jesus saying the generation who sees these things will not pass. and we see those things.
at the time of me writing this single post, I am not convinced the repentance mentioned in Hosea and the verse of 1 day being 1000 years to The LORD has any correlation. That however is not written in stone and I could be persuaded, with scriptural evidence. I hold no opinions or even any previous thoughts to this topic brought out in the OP... I just used what seemed to me to be a logical approach to determine the matter. I am just a man, and what i have written could be flawed. I eagerly await any responses.

Actually... i thought about it some more.... a day has 24 hours...not just the first and last hour of the day, which my math was reflecting... the third day would go from 1300 AD/AM to 2300 BC/PM.... it does place us in the correct timeline.
told you I am just a man. i didnt lie.

Hi brother Cletus, I think more thought has to be given to this.
Now let us go to the main scripture:
Hos 6:1-3 (1) Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. (2) After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. (3) Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
First let us establish this, when shall the Jews finally receive Christ as a nation, and actually, literally, live in his "sight" ?
Mat 24:30 (30) And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Zec 14:16 (16) And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Rev 20:6 (6) Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Jer 23:5-6 (5) Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. (6) In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
So in these verses, it shows people literally seeing Christ physically, and Christ being in the midst of people; and in the Jeremiah scripture, it clearly shows that when this person, the righteous Branch, which is Christ Jesus, reigns as king on earth, in those days, will Judah be saved, and Israel dwell safely.
This refers to the second coming of Christ, which begins the millennial reign of Christ.
Hos 6:1-3 (1) Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. (2) After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
It is in this time of the millennial reign, that Israel shall live in his sight.
So the third day they get raised up, and live in his sight, and it is throughout this time of the millennial reign that they are raised up, and live in his sight.
Jerusalem shall be the center of the world at this time, and the Jews shall live in his sight, throughout all of the millennial reign.
Now what about the words "after 2 days"?
Well it says that after 2 days, shall Israel be revived, well when shall Israel be revived?
Well let us look at some of brother Cletus' calculations, which I believe was well intended:
The calculation of the 2 thousand years was from 700BC + 2k years, which brings you to 1300 A.D. .
How you get to that, is by going from 700 bc towards the beginning of the A.D. counting, and from the beginning of the A.D. counting, you add 1300 years, which between 700Bc, and adding 1300 years in the A.D side, it equals to 2000 years passing.
Now was Israel "revived" in A.D. 1300?
No they were not.
So the 2 thousand year count cannot begin with 700 BC, it has to begin somewhere else.
And when shall Israel, as a nation be revived?
They shall be revived at the beginning of the millennial reign, so the end of the 2 thousand years leads us to the beginning of the millennial reign, and the 3rd day brings us from the beginning of the millennial reign unto the end of the millennial reign.
So at Christ's second coming, is when Israel gets revived, but also begins to be raised up and live in his sight.
And the millennial reign has not yet taken place, but also we have to remember that the 7 years tribulation period, happens just before the millennial reign.

SING TO THE GLORIOUS KING . THE LORD that i have and who has ME made clear long ago the signs of the times nigh the end . BY HIS Grace alone I SEE . COME YE ONE and COME YE ALL to the living waters that if a person drinks thereof they shall never die . And come ye quickly . For once the DOOR is shut , its shut and then shall many beat upon that door , but it will not be opened . For it is and will be too late . The LORD JESUS is the LORD that all true lambs have . And HE ALONE will be all we need . Put not your trust in men , hope not in this world . What is and what is coming will not be stopped . Only inquity and delusion will abound and so too will our persecutions . DO the work while there is time to do the work . THE END is coming . And many will wail on that day .

Thus far, in this posting, I have not said anything that contradicts any scripture, and like I said, if God mentions these 3 days, it is because it is important, whether we consider it important or not.

It is true that we are in the last of the last days, and what is reigning, as the bible said it would, is the falling away, but there is evidence, in the bible, of people getting saved in the tribulation period though, and I do not want to ignore those scriptures either, but yes what is predominant is this falling away, and these fake revivals and so on.

JESUS said , I COME QUICKLY , and i say , PRAISE GOD EVEN SO COME LORD JESUS . OH even SO COME LORD JESUS . There are scriptures that refer to not knowing the day or the hour of the rapture, and others who refer not knowing the day or the hour of the second coming. I will mention one about the second coming here: Mat 24:30 (30) And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. Mat 24:36-38 (36) But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. (37) But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (38) For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, Now when it says of " that" day, it refers to a day that was just mentioned, which is why it is called " that" day. And the day mentioned was shown in verse 30 which refers to the second coming. Now in the days of Noah, yes it is true that only 8 got saved, yet concerning verses of the tribulation period, it shows many getting saved, though more may receive the mark than get saved of course. Yet the focus concerning Noah's day, and the time that leads to the second coming, is not focused on how many get saved, but rather on the attitude of how most will react, such as some drinking and eating, and marrying and giving in marriage, so most people's hearts' will be so hardened that they will have no concern for the things of God, especially they who receive the mark. That is the focus of that scripture.
