BY FAITH
God is a Spirit we are his spiritual children; life is in the blood of Christ and power is in the Word and Spirit; if I am a child of God shouldn’t I manifest his attributes? What is the answer? Is to walk by faith to walk by the Spirit? The verse reference “for we walk by faith and not by sight”. What is the answer? Is to walk by sight to walk by carnal reason concerning the assessment of things we perceive?
(4) Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2:4 KJV
Faith is not justified by pride; the proud lift themselves up without fear or reverence to God. Faith points to God who exalts the humble. Faith is dependent upon God and looks outside the realm of self-ability or carnal intellect and walks in the precepts and concepts of spiritual principles.
(16) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
(17) For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Romans 1:16-17 KJV
The person who is righteous by faith will live by that faith. The gospel of Jesus Christ that brings salvation has an inherent power which is propelled into activation when it is preached or presented in a simplistic but practical way. We cannot infuse it with power we can only activate the power when we declare it and live it from faith to faith; in other words from the beginning to the end. Our righteousness is in and through Christ we have no righteousness of our own. Now Christ through the Holy Spirit lives in us and guides us into all truth and shows us things to come. He opens our eyes to see by the Spirit what we cannot see naturally.
(11) Now it is clear that no one is justified in the sight of God by the law, because "the one who is righteous will live by faith." Galatians 3:11 LEB
No one is saved by works but through grace by faith; good works are a product of grace not the cause of it. Our walk is a spiritual walk based upon our faith the sacrificial and vicarious offering of the blood of Jesus who knew no sin but became our sin so that we might be saved.
(8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
(9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.
(10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:8-10 KJV
Selfless acts of good; toward mankind is the earmark of genuine grace. Selfishness becomes selflessness as the normality of life in the Spirit. The work points to the Creator and the Savior of our souls wherein true righteousness is. Pride is abandoned to glorify God in all things; whether word or deed.
(35) Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has great reward.
(36) For you have need of endurance, in order that after you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.
(37) For yet "a very, very little while, and the one who is coming will come and will not delay.
(38) But my righteous one will live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul is not well pleased with him."
(39) But we are not among those who shrink back to destruction, but among those who have faith to the preservation of our souls. Hebrews 10:35-39 LEB
Brethren there are perils all around us today and many are abandoning their faith in Christ and the true gospel for a watered down version of sloppy agape that wastes our faith on vanities. Many put more stock in what they see and experience in this world; than walking in the Spirit which is not always a wonderful feeling of euphoria. When the world promotes fantasy as an escape; God infuses our faith to face realities. We start out in faith which works through the love of God and we finish in faith by enduring every aspect that the will of God brings us too; and then takes us through! Selah! Keep the faith and the faith will keep you!
