DOUBLE STANDARDS PRODUCE A LYING LIFESTYLE
Many Christians have double standards when it comes to life; I should know I’ve practiced having them before and I decided to guard my anointing and my spiritual mind through identifying and stopping double mindedness in my life. Some folks have a standard for the jobsite and a standard for home and yet another standard for church. If I lie to make a living and profess to be a Christian at home or at a church or in a community; I am practicing a double standard! Then what appears to be wisdom is in fact hypocrisy. Double mindedness produces two-facedness and an unstable faithless life.
(5) If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
(6) But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
(7) For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
(8) A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. James 1:5-8 KJV
If the book of James is Holy Canon and it is; it must therefore be heeded as absolute truth. We are supposed to be adhering to the truth through the renewing of the spirit of our minds. Our lives are supposed to reflect the person and character of Jesus Christ. He is the way, the truth, and the expression of spiritual life!
(4) Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, “Rejoice!”
(5) Let your moderation be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
(6) In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
(7) And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
(8) Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.
(9) The things which you learned, received, heard, and saw in me: do these things and the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:4-9
Each day we face dilemmas of conflict which involve decisions! We face a choice to do right or wrong concerning our lives and livelihoods. Sometimes in our minds we think that a lie will suffice and make things easy; but God is watching our life’s decisions. A lie at the time seems practical and harmless; but it sets precedents which are molded into lifestyles which become a deceptive way of life. Hence; we become doubleminded and our conscience is altered to the point of self-deception. We become unstable in all our ways!
God commands us to not be conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. He exhorts us to think on things which solidify integrity; things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous, and full of praise. These things oppose and depose the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the prideful things of life. They develop humility under the mighty hand of God’s righteous rule and make us to become faith focused individuals who walk by faith and not by sight.
Two minds will produce a singular lying lifestyle; hence a lifestyle that is dishonest at its core! If a lie becomes the solution then our mind is filled with pollution. I have found that is better to suffer loss in this life by being honest than to suffer the loss of heaven for being dishonest.
(5) He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” He said, “Write, for these words of God are faithful and true.”
(6) He said to me, “I have become the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give freely to him who is thirsty from the spring of the water of life.
(7) He who overcomes, I will give him these things. I will be his God, and he will be my son.
(8) But for the fearful, unbelieving, sinners, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” Revelation 21:5-8
Brethren a half truth is a lie! This scripture says all liars; not some liars; not half-truths; but all who lie will join other sinners in the lake of invisible fire and sulfur for eternity. Why is there no revival in the land? It’s because many Christians want their cake and eat it too. They want the best of both standards; a standard that allows them to lie to get what they want or need, and a standard of faith that gets them what they want. The truth is that when one standard meets another where there is compromise neither of them stands. Brethren let us raise the standard of faith and walk in the Spirit of Truth!

(6) But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Let us seek the face of God and ask in faith without wavering; let us be firm and focused and assuredly forceful when we approach the Throne of Grace! For a doubleminded man is unstable in all of his ways! Selah
