Please let us pray for brother Frienduff’s internet, that is currently down, due to the weather. Let us pray that it gets repaired and up and running again as soon as possible, as we need brother Frienduff here with us all, as the lambs all need to be here for each other. The Lord be praised. The Lord Jesus is in control.

Unprecedented, potentially life-threatening Arctic temperatures down in Texas...made worse by power outages. Praying for the state of Texas, for the homeless, and any who are having trouble keeping warm.

I am sorry to hear his internet is down. I know they have had terrible weather in Texas. There has been strange weather in a lot of places. There were bad thunderstorms where I was parked last night, and the temperature rose from 42 degrees up to 64 degrees afterward, only to start back down again. Where I live, which was only about 4 hours from where I was in South Carolina, the temperature was in the low 30s, while I was experiencing 64 degrees at 5 AM. It has just been weird. We definitely need to pray for Frienduff and those in Texas. They also had a terrible multi-vehicle accident in Texas this past week because of the weather.

the weather down here sure is not typical. I, being a maintenance man, have so many problems right now. our sprinkler system went out sunday... water just coming out... and i turned off the valves to the pumps and still for days now water is coming out of the main drain. i ran out of propane for a back up generator because power is off. almost ran out of diesel in the other generator and had someone bring 90 gallons in their pick up twice but the delivery drivers wont deliver the big amounts i need... and guess who gets to tote it by hand by the five gallon can from the road to the tank???... this guy... in 6 inches of snow on top of two inches of ice... because of the power outage we had to move everyone to an area of the building where the heaters still worked. much of the buildings heat went out... the power comes on but its surging hard. the city water supply has a pump out because of the cold and at work we have no water so i had to open the supply closet for emergency backup water but our supplier who delivers is grounded. then a sister facility had their roof cave in from the weight of snow and ice and they had plumbing in the attic, water flooded their building. they are going to possibly evacuate to my facility. i am so wore out right now. been working today is the 9th day straight 14-15 hour days minimum preparing and now dealing with it. phone wont stop ringing, but somewhere somehow i find ways to charge it.
pipes are busting every where that the city is coming out to turn your water off if you just call and ask. roads have inches of ice and snow... vehicles in the ditches, wrecked, stuck in the middle of the road and cant get traction. tonight forecast says sleet and rain. if it rains while its this cold there will be even more ice... but no powdery type snow to pack down so you can drive. stores are out of everything. gas stations are even rationing how much fuel you can buy. cell service is garbage. cant find salt for sidewalks.
I might just call in tomorrow and make a fire in my wood stove. i got water stocked and food. just move non-canned out in the garage in a cooler... its colder in there than in my fridge. its a big mess down here because the south isnt prepared for this. stores thats 24 hours are closed down. and since so many folks here dont know how to drive in this they just call in to work. places of business cant operate. i did see a pizza hut delivery driver out today. bet he is making fat stacks in tips. the mail aint even running.
but i tell you one thing... God has been making a way for me in all this. keeping me safe. and i had an unction to buy me a new pair of muck chore boots a while back... so glad i made that purchase. my feet have stayed warm and dry this whole time. and they fit my feet very nicely.
yall dont be worrying about us down here.. pray yes... but dont be worrying. God is with His own... and i would bet Frienduff is busy praising The LORD.
its 2021 yall and its zero degrees outside. old timers are saying they never saw a winter like this ever before. its like the north pole came and just sat down on us and said whats up Texas... not the temperature, ha ha.

Crazy weather patterns...we've had a milder than usual winter here in southern Ontario, lots of days just above freezing, until the past couple of weeks or two it got back to normal, well below freezing. But cold and snow are normally par for the course all winter long here...we've got central heating and fleets of snow plows and salters always at the ready to keep the roads clear, as well as winter clothing. Praise the Lord for those boots Cletus and that you've got a wood stove...hope frienduff has some way of keeping warm too. Looks like that's exactly what happened....polar vortex went and sat on Texas, it doesn't normally go anywhere near that far south...almost makes me wonder if the poles are starting to shift or something.

The worst cold weather in known American history was 1899. It was so cold all the way down south that there was ice in the Gulf of Mexico. The Mississippi River was frozen to a standstill from around the Tennessee state line and going up; slushy ice further south was pouring into New Orleans. Mardi Gras was delayed that year because the city streets were snowed and iced over. They even had snow in Florida.
1816 was the year of no summer. They were still shoveling snow in August. Huge crop failures caused poverty and disease the following winter.
These things happen on occasion, but it's a one-in-a-lifetime event.

Hi all.
The update from yesterday is that Frienduff also has a power outage.
Thank the Lord, the local store is still on and open, so he is able to charge up his phone at the store, so he can continue to use it and keep up communication. Let us keep Frienduff in our prayers and that he will be back online with us as soon as possible.

I am glad you are doing alright. You are right about God being able to take care of his own people, even in the midst of something like this. I did not think this was normal for Texas. I used to run through Texas a lot, and while I know you all get times of cold and snow, it was never this extreme.

We do go through different weather cycles. Most of them are natural occurrences, but I do wonder if some are not God trying to get our attentions. Even in the cases you mentioned, I wonder if something was happening where God was trying to get the attention of the country?
