GOD OF COVENANT KEEPING
And he said, "O LORD God of Israel, there is no God like You in heaven or in earth. You keep Your covenant and show lovingkindness to Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts. (2 Chronicles 6:14)
Brethren we serve a God who is the one and only God who keeps his promises, pledges, and purposes to those who walk before him with all their hearts. There are many today who serve God with half their heart and expect God to keep his covenant with them concerning things he has shown them in his word, in his will, and in his ways.
(5) And if any one of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask God for it, who gives with open hand to all men, and without upbraiding; and it will be given him.
(6) But let him ask in faith and have no doubts; for he who has doubts is like the surge of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed into spray.
(7) A person of that sort must not expect to receive anything from the Lord--
(8) such a one is a man of two minds, undecided in every step he takes. James 1:5-8
God wants your whole heart and your whole mind. We can’t afford to be driven by the surges of wind driven waves and tossed into the mist of spray. We must decide to be singular in our mentality and allow the force of focus to zero in on God’s desires for our lives. He tells us if we are deficient in wisdom we may boldly come to the throne of grace and obtain it. The word of God says we as Christians possess the mind of Christ.
(10) For God unveiled them to us through His Spirit, for the Spirit by searching discovers everything, even the deepest truths about God.
(11) For what man can understand his own inner thoughts except by his own spirit within him? Just so no one but the Spirit of God can understand the thoughts of God.
(12) Now we have not received the spirit that belongs to the world but the Spirit that comes from God, that we may get an insight into the blessings God has graciously given us.
(13) These truths we are setting forth, not in words that man's wisdom teaches but in words that the Spirit teaches, in this way fitting spiritual words to spiritual truths.
(14) An unspiritual man does not accept the things that the Spirit of God teaches, for they are nonsense to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are appreciated by spiritual insight.
(15) But the spiritual man appreciates everything, and yet he himself is not really appreciated by anybody.
(16) For who has ever known the Lord's thoughts, so that he can instruct Him? But we now possess Christ's thoughts.
1 Corinthians 2:10-16
Brethren when we walk in the Spirit we will not make sense to those who do not possess the thought life of Christ. Our actions are foreign to the unsanctified mind of the un-regenerated and to the doubleminded Christian. For the singular minded Christian there awaits the fulfillment of God’s promises in his purposes!
(11) For I know the purposes which I am purposing for you,' says the LORD; 'purposes of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
(12) Then you shall call on Me, and you shall go and pray to Me, and I will hearken to you.
(13) And you shall seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13
What is God directing in your life right now! Once you answer that question and know it is the truth of the matter; then you will be able to surmise those things which attack you constantly. The bible teaches us that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood although those attacks do come many times in the form of a flesh and blood person standing in front of us or directing an attack against us. What is keeping you from seeking God with all your heart; brethren we cannot afford to be doubleminded in serving God for the reality of our lives is our being crucified with Christ and knowing that God is a covenant keeping God who will deliver us through every trial that comes our way when we set our focus to do the will of God without hesitation with our hearts.
(7) Now we have this treasure in earthen vessels in order that the supremacy of the power may be of God, and not from us.
(8) On every side we are hard pressed, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing;
(9) Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
(10) Always carrying about in our bodies the dying of the Lord Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. 2 Corinthians 4:7-10
Brethren, let us being pleasing to God whether we please those around us or not! When we set our minds to follow Christ we pick up our cross the symbol of our crucifixion of the old man and his ways and the resurrection of the new man created in the image and likeness of Christ. We are transformed and renewed to be pleasing to God by fulfilling the purposes of God. Selah!
