TOLERANCE BREEDS REBELLION THEN GIVES BIRTH TO INIQUITY!
It’s one thing to tolerate the sinners of the world which is Christian in Character, but its quite another thing to tolerate it in the Church. Paul said “ a little leaven leavens the whole lump “. He was addressing blatant unrepentant sinners within the confines of the Church. Many today love the easy believe-ism doctrines of this modern age. Because many Adulterers, Fornicators, and Extortionist attend our church without a sense of conviction or remorse, and even feel justified in their lifestyles because of an atmosphere that does not confront or contend with their sins.
“ But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints “. Ephesians 5:3
Instead of tolerating the leaven of worldliness the Church should actively purge out the old leaven. Leaven meaning the weak and beggarly elements of worldliness which will perpetuate, permeate, and emanate into the whole body of believers a little by little till the whole body is defiled. We must remember there are biblical laws which govern our fellowship as well as other facets of Christianity. There are different kind of fellowship which effect our spiritual growth which will influence, provoke, and promote godliness or influence, provoke, and promote ungodliness.
One anoints and empowers the other dilutes and pollutes. So we must realize the consequences of the laws of fellowship. If we violate a law of the state we will be brought before a judge and when found guilty will suffer the penalty for that violation. When we violate the laws of God we will suffer the consequences of that violation. But if we comply with the law our reward is freedom to enjoy life and pursue happiness. We must realize every precept of God is given for our own protection. Most police slogans declare “ to serve and to protect ‘, and so it is with the law of right relationships.
RIGHT RELATIONSHIPS PRODUCE RIGHTEOUS LIVING
Iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend “ . Proverbs 27:17
Right relationship promote right attitudes, interests, concepts, and language. Right fellowship brings blessing into our lives. It stimulates us to apply the wisdom, understanding, and the principals of God’s word to our lives. It stimulates holiness which is a by product of fellowship with the Father.
“ If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin “ 1st John 1:6-7
In effect where two or three are gathered in his name he is involved in their fellowship. God is our heavenly Father who knows what is best for us. When we walk in his light we truly have real fellowship. Although the fellowship of the world may be real practically it is certainly superficial. It is used as just a veneer for a hidden agenda of the heart of all those who partake. God commands us to stay clear of worldly intimacy, but my primary concern is with who are called brethren who are consumed with in their lives, and what the bible say our relationship should be with them.
“ Do not be deceived; evil company corrupts good habits “ . 1st Corinthians 15:33
Fellowship can be a device of the enemy to defile our relationship with God by focusing our attention and affection elsewhere and thereby breaking fellowship with God. Evil Associations Corrupt:
“ Do not lay hands on anyone hastily, nor share in other people’s sins; keep yourself pure “. 1st Timothy 5:22
When we overlook the sins of others for the sake of fellowship we partake or share in their sins. Do not be deceived brethren, you social life will effect your spiritual life. Private associations do pollute godly corporate institutions. Evil companionships may be socially acceptable according to the spirit of worldliness, but they are not scriptural or acceptable according to the Spirit of Holiness.
That’s why tolerance of blatant unrepentant sinners in our fellowship will end up giving birth to iniquity in the life of a saint. Loving a sinner is one thing, partaking in their sin, is a sin. Selah!
