Satan loves to exalt the names of other gods, such as Easter is the name of another god, but God does not exalt other gods or their names, nor does he want to be associated with other gods in any way, shape, or form.

Satan loves to exalt the names of other gods, such as Easter is the name of another god, but God does not exalt other gods or their names, nor does he want to be associated with other gods in any way, shape, or form. For satan desires one thing my friend . Any guesses on what that one is . HE desires to be worshipped as GOD . And any time one is calling upon the name of another god , another religoin , is loving and doing sin , THEY ARE WORSHIPPING HIM . For a man that even chooses sin over Truth , is a man serving satan . A man serving the flesh , serves the very thing that the serpent once deceived the original humans by . YE shall become as gods , And in essence if one worships self they indeed worship satan . Satan who fell in love with self and became enamoured by the gifts and not the Giver of gifts . They are following satan who by deceit is teaching them the very thing that first entered into his own heart . SERVING SELF . Cause satan sure did . HE served his own self , his own hope and dream . Pride is a killer and it begins through the flesh and through the focus on SELF . I shall be as , I am some great thing , I will serve my own desires of the flesh . ITS DEADLY GILLER and most folks got nor have any idea of what is going on within even the sold out christendom of today . Church has become a church of WHO WE ARE , SERVE our desires , rather than WHO GOD IS and SERVING HIS DESIRES . LET IT SINK IN DEEP . LET IT SINK IN DEEP . FOR i am long wore out with false doctrine and the service of self . TIME TO SERVE HE who saved us , TIME TO SUFFER for HE who has saved us , TIME to embrace the whole meaning of THE COST and SEE IT AS GAIN . To many the cost of serving Christ has become gain of what can i get in this world . LET IT SINK IN , LET IT SINK IN . Instead of simply leaping for daily joy of even having been saved , they serve self , they serve a god of their own making whom satan has created in his own image , YET the folks think its really GOD . JESUS DID NOT COME so that we could heap and steap , serve self , serve flesh , serve a lie . HE came not to serve the flesh , but to set men free . Satan is the server of flesh . For he knows if one serves the flesh , they are in truth serving HIM . LET IT SINK IN , LET IT SINK In . I have come to destroy the doctrines of men and any false hope that rests or giveth false peace in this world or in the flesh . THOUGH , YEAH I ALREADY KNOW I cannot destroy anything . BUT I SURE CAN , BY GRACE , EXPOSE IT ALL . And if exposing lies by pointing to CHRIST means the loss of all things for me , prison , or death , ITS ALL TOTAL JOY , WONDERFUL BEAUTIFUL , ABUNDANT LIFE . Whatever comes against me , whatever i lose for CHRIST , IS TOTAL GAIN . LET this world and her churches and her religoins, her lie come against me as ONE and even kill me , ITS ALL GAIN . A mind focused on CHRIST is a mind , that though it loses all things of this world , SEES ONLY GAIN in knowing CHRIST more . This world simply aint gonna tolerate true lambs , for true lambs will not conform to its goals . AND beleive me the goals of men who are in this we are one agenda SEEKETH a world and a peoples who will serve and obey IT . AND anything that gets in the way of that , IT and its men , its peoples both small and great , ARE GONNA HATE . Get ready , its gonna get only far more deluisional and far more hatred for the lambs will come .

Satan loves to exalt the names of other gods, such as Easter is the name of another god, but God does not exalt other gods or their names, nor does he want to be associated with other gods in any way, shape, or form. I dont' know but there might be really two issues with this....one is whether the 'church' should have invented those holidays in the name of God and mixed them with idols. Talk about seeker friendly. And of course that was very wrong. But what might be a separate issue is the question of whether it's okay to acknowledge or celebrate those days in our society now, which has largely been at least nominally Christian. All I know is that there was no mention or intent to worship or commemorate false deities in my family when I was growing up. It was always about Jesus as far as I ever heard or knew, so that is all I have ever associated those days with, even before being saved, with Him, and Him alone...His birth and resurrection. Those in my circle that I get together with are almost all unbelievers but not pagans, they are mostly just secular and a few on my husband's side are Catholic...there is no thought or intention in their heads at all about false deities, they've never even heard of them I'm sure......if they were celebrating Ishtar or Tammuz or anything else unGodly, I wouldn't get together with them on those holidays....for the sake of their consciences. They are not riotous either so I just haven't seen any need to avoid their gatherings up to now as far as my conscience is concerned. But there might come a day when those holidays do become once again mixed with paganism though, and if that were to happen then of course I wouldn't have anything to do with it at all and would encourage other believers the same. I have no problem with calling Christmas by that name because I believe "mas" or "mass" just means celebration. But in recent years I try to avoid using the word Easter and call it resurrection day instead. Though even the days of the week are named after Roman gods, and I think some of the months.....but it doesn't necessarily mean we're recognizing or exalting or invoking false gods when we use those names. It's just something that was passed down from a long time ago and those former associations no longer exist in our current useage, up to the present at least.

It's just something that was passed down from a long time ago and those former associations no longer exist in our current useage, up to the present at least. We have to see things God's way, and when something is rooted in paganism, God will never accept it, regardless to one changing it's meaning or not, God wants the roots to be chopped down, destroyed, period. The ax has got to be laid to the root. He wants himself to be glorified, and not for us to make excuses of justifying bad roots, it is not what it is to you that counts, it is what is it to God that counts, let us lay ourselves aside, and have the mind of Christ. No mixture, and the bible also says this: Hos 4:6 (6) My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. It talks about if we forget the law of God, I will also forget thy children, hmmm. And also the bible says this: Exo 23:13 (13) And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth. And when God did mention the names of other gods, it was always in a negative way, and never positive, and never in some flippant casual, almost accepting way. We should not seek approval of the world. And yes worldly people are pagans, they may not be in the sense that they worship some image, or some statue type god, but be sure they have their idols, as much as the pagans of the past, which it may be a rock star that they worship, some sports star, porn star, or whatever false star that they are into. We were all idol worshipers when we were in unbelief. Most worldly people could not care less about meanings of things, because they just do not care, their lives are not about pleasing God and holiness, but God cares, therefore we should. So we should never take his name flippantly, and think that he will be ok with it.

Deu 12:29-32 (29) When the LORD thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land; (30) Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. (31) Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods. (32) What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
Exo 23:13 (13) And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.
I repeat, God does not want us to serve him like the pagans, when they serve their gods, and how they serve their gods, but neither does he want us to be like the world in their ways of sensual, drunken celebrations.
In the world, there is no careful thought of how they do their celebrations, but with God there is careful thought, and high consideration of how God wants to be celebrated.
God gives us a pattern in the bible, and he wants our worship.
Let us follow his pattern, and in celebrations, there is some type of exaltation to one degree or another towards someone or something, whether it be innocent, or not so innocent.
And God says to do all to his glory, and not to add or diminish from his ways, and in this area of not being careful in how we celebrate God, it shows a lack of reverence for God, and being more concerned about what we like or dislike, rather than what truly pleases God.
In this area, I do not hear too many defenses about what pleases God, but I hear a lot of defenses of, me, myself and I.

1Co 10:25-31 Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience, for, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” If an unbeliever invites you to a meal and you want to go, eat whatever is put before you without raising questions of conscience. But if someone says to you, “This has been offered in sacrifice,” then do not eat it, both for the sake of the one who told you and for the sake of conscience. I am referring to the other person’s conscience, not yours. For why is my freedom being judged by another’s conscience? If I take part in the meal with thankfulness, why am I denounced because of something I thank God for? So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
1Co 8:1-7 Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. But if any man love God, the same is known of him. As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one. For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.
1Co 10:20 No, but I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not want you to become sharers in demons. 1Co 10:21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons. 1Jo 5:21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
So here we see on the one hand the bible says within the first two passages that an idol is nothing, and not to bring up questions of conscience, but yet on the other hand it says we are not to have anything to do with idols because it is worshiping demons and it also says elsewhere not to eat meat sacrificed to idols.......so in resolving these apparent contradictions we can see it is a matter of one’s intention, one’s heart, whether they are worshiping an idol or not. (Though we are not to cause someone else to stumble just because our conscience is clear.) That’s why I don’t see anything wrong with participating in a Christmas or Easter celebration as long as it is not a deliberate intentional celebration of idols on my part, even though it started out 1600 years ago as a mixture. The pagan association no longer even exists at this time....but if someone were to say come to a dinner or a temple service we are having in honour of Zeus or Ishtar, or anything else false or unGodly, then I would have to decline for their sake and their good, not to appear to be approving of idolatry and thus influencing them wrong. (I’ve only been talking about myself as an example for the sake of illustration, even like Paul is doing in the scripture above, not because this is about me.)
Anyway, just wanted to try and show this wisdom, I wouldn’t fight with anyone about it, and if they still do not feel their conscience would be clear with any kind of participation with Christmas and Easter then that is between them and God, they do so unto the Lord, and of course it would not be sin to avoid these holidays. So I’ll leave it there.

What are things to God
Does God transform bad roots into good ones?
Does he transform sin, into something good?
Would he allow something bad to be associated with his name or his ways?
They could have easily called Easter by another gods' name such as Baal, and in the bible, it is well known that Baal was the name of another god, and in he bible it says thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Do you think that God would accept another gods name to be associated with the resurrection and death of Jesus?
Even if men eventually put another meaning to the word Baal to mean something else?
Absolutely not, God does not reform other gods or transforms them to be something else, he just simply wants to destroy those roots, yet it is true that the churches are learning the ways of the heathen, even having Easter bunnies, and most churches do not want to be totally separate from the world.
Just be like the world and have a fun time, even at the expense of irreverence towards God.
I think the reason why people are so lax in this, is because their view of God, is very low, and they do not see him as some truly high, holy and exalted God, who created everything.
Here is the roots of the word Easter:
(…This was to have happened at the time of the first full moon after the spring equinox. Semiramis became known as "Ishtar" which is pronounced "Easter", and her moon egg became known as "Ishtar´s" egg." …)
Now today, they ascribe this meaning:
(...Easter,[nb 1] also called Pascha (Aramaic, Greek, Latin)[nb 2] or Resurrection Sunday,[nb 3] is a Christian festival and cultural holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead,...)
And another name for Ishtar is Ashtoreth:
(…Ish•tar
(ˈɪʃ tɑr) n. the Assyrian and Babylonian goddess of love and war, identified with the Phoenician Astarte and the Semitic Ashtoreth. …)
And when the languages were confounded at the tower of Babel, the Babylonian religion spread all over the world, and they had formed words in their new languages.
Ashtoreth is actually in the bible:
1Ki 11:5 (5) For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
Would you dare call Christ's death and resurrection Ashtoreth? Because that is basically what people are doing, whether knowingly or not knowingly.
And it is not what it means to you, but what it means to God, and God's ways do not change, even if your meanings, or so called good intentions change.
It is about us learning his ways, and then applying them to our lives.
Most in church circles, do not really care about meaning, but rather to just have a good time, it is about just let me alone, let me live my life, it is about what it means to them, and not what it means to God.
Isa 5:20 (20) Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
So many things today, are being redefined, such as the word racism, today the leftists are making it mean anything they want it to mean, today homosexuality is being seen as a good thing, some see abortion as a good thing, and not as murder, which it truly is murder.
God says this:
Exo 23:13 (13) And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.
God does not transform sin into something else, God does not transform other gods' names, into something else, God does not want other God's names to be even mentioned in our lives, and if we do mention those names, it is in the form of exposing those things.
So redefining something does not make it acceptable to God, just like redefining racism, or abortion or homosexuality, does not make it ok in God's sight.
Bad roots must be cut down, and not redefined, God does not redeem us in sin, he does not redeem other gods, in order to make them acceptable, nor does he make other god's names redeemable, and he does not want us to even mention these names, it is an abomination to him, he hates it that much, and if he does, then we should also.
We are too busy redeeming paganism, and not busy enough of going about what it is in God's sight, and what pleases God.
We are calling evil good, and good evil.
And God sets us free from sin, and not in sin, his blood washes away our sins, and does not redeem us in our sin, so we can keep our sin, or keep on sinning.

Is this happening in most Christian circles, were darkness is being put for light, and light for darkness??

The redefining gospel
Just redefine it, and God will be ok with it.
For in the end, it is my will be done, and not God 's will be done.
Now of course we know, that is not God's way, but in action, many churches are practicing this.

Maybe we're both thinking on different tracks here Giller...I've been thinking along the lines of individual conscience and handling holidays as an individual believer, while you've been thinking in terms of churches and official church position on this..? As far as "churches" go, if they were doing things in the simplicity of Christ I don't think they would really be following such things as ecclesiastical calendars and observing holidays. If so, I think we might be in agreement on that point.

Thinking about this a bit more, on the other hand, since it is not sin to have annual reminders of biblical things....I suspect one reason for feast days/holidays originally might have had to do with the fact that most people were not able to own their own set of scriptures (before the invention of printing presses), so going to the temple/synagogue/church on certain days allowed them to hear the bible read out loud and was a reminder of whatever scriptural truth/event they were celebrating. Holidays and feast days were teaching tools and reminders. As long as we don't make too much of it...we are not under laws and the Lord doesn't require it. And we wouldn't want to make more out of a holiday than the actual thing we are remembering or celebrating as that is when it can become idolatrous.

Because this is a difficult month for me, I am not going by it’s dates this month. I am calling the next 30 days, from yesterday, “Praise the Lord 1st”. Today I have called it, “Praise the Lord 2nd”. Tomorrow I will be calling it, “Praise the Lord 3rd” and on I will roll it. So let’s praise the glorious Lord.
