I don't see how quoting Bibles verses could be controversial on a Christian site. The edification and sanctification of the saints; the unity of the Spirit; speaking the truth in love; hatred of evil; the salvation of the unsaved; the repentance and restoration of the straying, and the glory of God. If these are not the objectives, concerns and values of those who created and run WCF, it is not worthy of Jesus Christ.

The word of GOD is a sword and it cuts deeper than any double edged sword . And butero you right on. IF an fornicator comes into a church , and wont repent , Yeah we do exactly what paul did . SEPERATE THEM OUT , TILL THEY REPENT , CEASE IT . The all inclusive mindset has just gained ground , BUT you know what , WHEN ITS ONLY SINKING GROUND , it don't matter how much ground it stands on . IN the end the ONLY THING that will remain IS JESUS WORDS and those WHO are OF HIM . We got to keep on exhorting , reminding , rebuking , encouraging DOING ALL THAT HONORS THE LORD FIRST and from that it is always done the right way . THE LORD FIRST , not men , not man , THE LORD and that means HIS SAYINGS . Now on that note , DONT WE KNOW ITS TIME TO PRAISE THE LORD AGAIN and AGAIN .

They were charging him with using scripture as a weapon. What do they expect? The Bible compares it to a sword.
"For this is the day of the Lord God of hosts, A day of vengeance, That He may avenge Himself on His adversaries. The sword shall devour; It shall be satiated and made drunk with their blood; For the Lord God of hosts has a sacrifice In the north country by the River Euphrates." - Jeremiah 46:10
"If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword; For the mouth of the Lord has spoken." - Isaiah 1:19-20
"...the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;" - Ephesians 6:17
"...the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day." - John 12:48
"...for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified..." - Romans 2:13
