For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12
I was thinking about this verse, and most of the time when it comes to mind, it is when I am dealing with an adversary in the flesh, a person who is attacking me. I would remember this verse, and how it is not the person I am fighting, but the devil working through them. More recently, I realized something else. This can also apply to us, and our thoughts. When we have thoughts, we tend to think they are our own beliefs and feelings, but that is not always true. Sometimes, and more than we think, they are spirits fighting against us. They come at us in many different ways.
Sometimes they bring self condemnation over mistakes to discourage us. That can include things we already repented of that God no longer remembers or holds against us. Sometimes they come to bring up a fight we had with someone in the past to stir up feelings of unforgiveness. Sometimes they will tell us we want to do something we know is wrong. I have noticed that if we take our thoughts captive like the Bible says, we can often separate our thoughts from those of the enemy. Why do we want to do this wrong thing? The demons can make us feel like if we do not do this or have that, we will go crazy, and in reality, we do not even really desire that.
The main point I am trying to make here is that when you consider this verse, and how we wrestle not against flesh and blood, that can be someone else fighting us, but it can also be our own fleshly desires. Maybe they are not our own? It can be those thoughts that condemn us or make us feel anger towards others. The next time you are battling with something, take that thought captive and consider the possibility the fight is coming from without, not within.

The other day, I mentioned to someone that my husband and I went out for 4th of July but I took him home early before the fireworks because he was tired.
This person, a woman, said, "If I were you, I would have told him to sleep in the car. It's *one* day!"
For a few moments, I was turned around thinking maybe I was odd for simply compromising with my husband without pushback.
Then I realized that this was a very old trick for getting me to be discontent about something after the fact that the devil has used on me before.
God has grown me. A few years back, I would've allowed this sort of talk to make me think that I shouldve been more contentious with my husband over not getting to see the fireworks. In the past, Ive definitely allowed others to influence me into being angry about things that I wouldn't have otherwise.
But now, I see through that for what it is: discontentment threatening to sour what was initially good and an attack from the Enemy.
My husband had already stayed up later than usual to spend time with me. He caters to me all the time and rarely asks for anything so it didn't occur to me to get mad, though I was disappointed.
This far along in my marriage, it seems pointless to get mad over something like that. However, it is amazing how other people's discontentment can be like an infection.
Going back to the OP, I think the enemy definitely tries to influence our thoughts to plant seeds of discontentment and unrighteousness anger so we attack others.
Thankfully, because of God's Word, it gets easier to recognize when certain thoughts aren't of the Lord.

I applaud Hungary, because taking actions like this for decency and morality is going to cause the devil's crowd to attack. It seems it did not take long for push back to occur. I hope Hungary holds firm.

You did the right thing. There will always be people trying to stir up strife in the home. I do not think most people realize the damage feminism has done to our society.
As far as fireworks go, I used to go to watch them each year, but I guess I have seen them so often, it does not really mean that much now. Also, I do not know about where you live, but in many places, you can see fireworks displays in the distance if you can find a clear spot in your yard. I was at a truck stop on the 4th, and could see the fireworks display from the local town in the distance. I can see them to some extent from my house when I am home on the 4th. The fireworks display is done in the park, which is a few miles away, but I can still see them to some extent in my back yard.

I could write a whole section on feminism. Fortunately I saw through it even as a young teen. It still has influenced me more than Id like but the Lord has demonstrated in my life that it's an empty ideology. |

John there is something else i have found . Me and sister . The G seven is trying to become the D TEN . As in TEN KINGS . And guess what they are all behind . Five G , the chip , the global kingdom . They might be or become the TEN KINGS that rules one hour with the beast . We need to keep an eye on this . |

Thanks for the information. This is the first I have heard of this plan. You can just look at what is happening and sense that the tribulation period is right around the corner.

Thankfully, because of God's Word, it gets easier to recognize when certain thoughts aren't of the Lord. Wonderfully also, obeying or serving your husband is not compromising with your husband. No pushback is expected either. I believe you chose well, and God's Grace and Shalom be to you and your household today.
Oh, it is "odd" for you simply to obey your husband. The rebellious world says not to. They say to sin instead. And they outnumber us (Christians) more than 1000 to one) . But we are with Jesus, abiding in Him, and what Jesus says is what is right all the time.
