And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you away, even unto the end of the world. A-men. Matthew 28:18-20
In the majority of the church world today, their only emphasis is on sharing the message of salvation through faith in Christ. That is it. When we look at Jesus' commission to the church, He tells us to do more than that. After telling us that "all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth," Jesus gives us specific tasks to do.
1. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations. This is about making disciples. It is not just about John 3:16.
2. Baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. While I do not believe the act of water baptism saves a person, I do believe it is something all should do as an act of obedience, and a sign to the world of the new birth. We are to do this, recognizing the truth of the Holy Trinity.
3. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. There are many who ignore the teachings of Jesus today, and call them "transitional teachings." Jesus was teaching the people at a time when they were under the entire law of Moses. As such, it is easy to assume that we need to put more emphasis on the teachings of Paul than Jesus, because he was a teacher during the time of the New Covenant, but not so fast. Jesus says that we are to teach people to observe all the things he commanded us. That means everything he said applies today. Everything in the New Testament, including the teachings of Christ are essentials of the faith.
After giving us this commission, Jesus promises us that He is with us always, even unto the end of the world.

Actually john that was what they did to prepare us all for the new way to evangelize . YES they sure did shut down the whole reminder of JESUS who did say to ALSO TEACH THEM EVERYTHING I HAVE TUAGHT YOU . But as of late , its grown and merged into a whole nother monster . And this monster WONT EVEN PREACH JESUS as the MEANS OF SALVATION . THIS is what happens and what it led too . SEE when leaven is not rejected , IT LEAVES ONLY MORE AND MORE and MORE and MORE . TILL NOW we got a whole nother GO SPELL , ITS ALL INCLUSIVE , DONT AND WONT PREACH JESUS AS THE ONLY WAY . IT preaches all paths and religoions are fine and good so long as they got this lovey lovey stuff . AND MUCH WORSE its about to GET . Cause on this path they will turn as one Against those who WOULD say JESUS is the only way and i dont mean wtih just words , I MEAN ACTIONS .

That is what they did my friend . AND LOOK what it did . NOW if anyone comes preaching and reminding that one was actually BE A DOER , they get called legalistic . AND YET JESUS wasthe ONE WHO HAD SAID TO BE A DOER FIRST . This has led to even worse things that have popped up . AS i said above , IT LED to a mindset tolerant of all paths and then worse ACCEPTING and BELIEVING that all paths are valid . WHAT did we think was gonna happen when they took off from the very pattern JESUS first taught and later the apostels taught , IT WAS GONNA CRASH . AND IT HAS .

Amen. Sad to hear that there are Christians out there who are saying or implying that we're not to teach His teachings, when they are foundational and even the cornerstone of the faith. The way to make disciples is by discipling, the way that Jesus did.

I've noticed that many want to preach only from the epistles of Paul. They say he's the apostle to the gentiles. They ignore everything else.
