I was listening to some preacher the other day and he made the statement that when Jesus quoted the old testament, 90% of the time he was quoting the Septuagint version word for word. I am not very familiar with that version. Does anyone here have any information about that version and the English translation of it??

I do not know anything about that . I was just going to say , that owl better have eyes in the back of its head, cause if the buffalo finds out its been replaced , feathers will be flying . Be blessed.

Be blessed. Actually that was my original avatar. I may change it later. I wouldn't count the owl out in a fight though... they are super silent hunters.... Saw one attack my uncle years ago and we had to take him to the ER to get a whole bunch of stitches...

It was a Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible that was used by the early church. It included the 14 books of the Apocrypha that were in the 1611 KJV Bible. Sorry I didn't respond to this sooner. I just came across it. I am not aware of any English Bibles that used it exclusively as their foundation.

I know there are several sources it can be downloaded for free but its usually with apocrypha. maybe check esword. i know a google search will render a free pdf file.

TheWord.net comes with it for free - and the program itself is free.
