Love and truth, and how the one is dependent on the other.
If we do not watch and carefully heed the Spirit, then we are prone to falling to one of these:
Love without truth
or
Truth without love
We have to seek the right balance of the two in different situations... In other words, be led by the Spirit.
"But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law." - Galatians 5:18
Love without truth:
This is the most common type of deception. As the unbelieving world is very welcoming to (some of) the positive effects of love.
But they do not want judgment, truth, and righteousness... Then it is no longer love, it is half love, a counterfeit.
"But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’
For whatever is more than these is from the evil one." - Matthew 5:37
God does not offer an incomplete form of love... He offers love in its purest form, without addition or removal.
"Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart,
from a good conscience, and from sincere faith..." - 1 Timothy 1:5
Just because you love cheating your wife, stealing things from the supermarket it does not mean it is right because you think:
"The owner is too rich" or "My flesh is weak, I am a man and need to cheat on my wife".
There is no partiality with God, and He will repay you according to your works.
This is how God judges, righteously.
"But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality." - Colossians 3:25
But God also is very merciful, then repent before it is too late... Lest you die and be found in iniquity and be told: "I never knew you".
"For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth." - 2 Corinthians 13:8
"If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth." - 1 John 1:6
"But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." - 1 John 1:7
Truth without love:
This is most of the times, an hypocritical form of telling truth or doing it for the wrong reasons or in an inappropriate manner.
It is hypocritical when you exhort others of doing something you are not willing to do it yourself or because you cannot.
It is for the wrong reasons when you are moved by impure motives.
It is in an inappropriate manner when you are not led by the Holy Spirit.
Truth without love is unfruitful.
"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself,
unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me." - John 15:4
It is unfruitful when you are not able to live it because the Spirit of God is not in you.
Then repent sincerely, and welcome Him to your life... Before it is too late.
"if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves,
and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then
I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." - 2 Chronicles 7:14
It is unfruitful when you just speak it for the sake of saying it when you shouldn't.
There is a right time for all things, and only God knows when it is. Then be led by His Spirit.
"A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold
In settings of silver." - Proverbs 25:11
"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me,
and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." - John 15:5
Then make sure you are doing it all with love.
"Let all that you do be done with love." - 1 Corinthians 16:14
"He who does not love does not know God, for God is love." - 1 John 4:8
"He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments,
is a liar, and the truth is not in him." - 1 John 2:4
"But if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him." - 1 Corinthians 8:3
"For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments..." - 1 John 5:3
"For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this:
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”" - Galatians 5:14
"As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love." - John 15:9
"...With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." - Matthew 19:26
" For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes
in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." - John 3:16
"and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer
for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again." - 2 Corinthians 5:15
"For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." - 1 Corinthians 6:20
God bless you all in Jesus' name!
